I am very surprised by any negative reviews of Dr. Vitale. He is by far the best orthopedic doctor I have ever had; and I have been his patient for about four years. He always take time to explain in detail what he his doing or answering any questions I have. I get injections in my knees, and he is the best ever; I hardly feel the needle. He is five stars in my books.

Dr Vitalie was very rude. He was rushing through my explanation of my pain. I ignored his behavior and attitude rushing me because I just figured I was his last patient and he was short on patience and time. But it appears each time I was talking he wasn’t listening. I got a hold of my medical record and he put four wrong information there to include location of my pain. Please check your medical record if you have no choice but to visit him!!!!!! I do not recommend this doctor.

I'm frankly stunned to read the 1-star reviews on this site. What they describe is the exact opposite of my experience. I recently saw Dr. Viatale for an EMG on my neck. Hands down one of the best bedside manners I've ever encountered. He was able to chat with me while also teaching a med student and performing the tests. He explained the test procedure and results in both clinical and layman's terms. I recommend Dr. Vitale as highly as possible.

I only have had one 5 minutes appointment with Dr Vitale and still feel upset with my interaction with him. His first statement was to ask me “ what I am doing there”. I was referred by my primary physician due to arthritis affecting my lower back. He was so abrupt and with such a negative attitude ( I am a female in my 70s)that made me tear up. After begging him to give me one minute of attention, he ended up recommending a local PT.

Fantastic! My second visit, follow-up for my knee, I had a broken pinky. He asked about that first, reviewed x-rays and took care to see that I got proper treatment or the finger! Amazing! The trainer who fitted me with proper splint was likewise very helpful and explained all to me clearly. Perhaps the entire Sports Medicine team is 5-star!! Haven't met them all, but I'm working on it.

I'm a student at UCSD and saw Dr. Vitali for a Neck / Spine issue. He got me the imaging that I needed (X-ray in house and a referral for an MRI) all within the same visit. He also did a physical exam and listened to all of my concerns. Very pleased with my entire experience. Front staff and nurses are also very kind!

After months of physical therapy, accupuncture, and seeing a DO orthopedist, I was not getting better and wanted a second opinion. The visit with Dr. Vitale was a waste of time. It was 7 mins to: review at my X-rays and MRI; review Google-image of what my problem was; and phys exam. It was difficult to ask any questions but I insisted while he was standing at door trying to leave. That was 5mins. As others mentioned: disinterested, rushed, and unprofessional. Wished I read these reviews first.

Spent short visit listening to HIM. would not let me speak. Suggested PRP which I was not interested in. Got very impatient when I explained my hip and back hurt in more than one place. Let office in tears. I was in extreme pain physically. Showed no compassion. DID send me to a great Physical Theraphist. Would NEVER recommend this doctor.

My first visit included an ultrasound and x-rays showing a completely severed long head biceps tendon. Dr. Vitali informed me the orthopedic surgeons (because of my age and I still have 70% of my right bicep function left) will not perform the surgery for me. The $15,000 a year insurance I pay should have them asking...when’s a convenient time for you to have the procedure. I can’t believe what I heard.

Disengaged, uninterested. No physical examination of my complaint. I didn't feel he really understood my problem and offered me no solutions. I left feeling very discouraged.

Very perfunctory. Unwilling and unable to answer basic questions. Did not even review patient info docs I completed before visit. Did not know why I was there and was unwilling to give complete exam.
