Dr. McBride has been excellent in past. On this visit he seemed impatient and short-tempered with patient who was somewhat confused and rattled after being walked around the complex and being late. Patient and spouse are knowledgeable, reserved individuals. It was unnecessary to talk down or be impatient with either.

Forever grateful to this doctor
In 1994 Dr. McBride performed his first catheter ablation on me. I was 19 years old. I had the symptoms of SVT every since I can remember but it was very difficult to diagnose, you had to record it during an episode which are impossible to predict. Dr. McBride sent me home with the correct type of recording device and finally, someone believed me and my condition had a name. We tried medication and it didn't help me at all. So after trying everything else he discussed this new procedure a catheter laser ablation. He said we can only try I have never performed it before. Well SVT was running my life I was young newly married and active and scared to death to do anything strenuous. Something had to be done only problem was I had no health insurance and my income was what my husbands machinist job paid. Dr. K.Wade McBride performed my ablation pro-bono. I'm now 48 years old been married 30 years to my Jr. High School sweetheart and have 2 amazing sons. He's a great doctor.

Dr. McBride has anger issues. Very poor bedside treatment. Does not review your chart before your appointment. He called in the wrong dosage for medication. He is so impatient he will not wait for you to finish your answers to his questions but terms out of the room. I went to Mayo instead.

Dr. McBride is very knowledgeable. I very much appreciate that he took the time to read over the reams of material generated by my tests. He explained everything and presented options to me. I trust his judgement implicitly and would recommend him to anyone needing his specialty.

I was born with WPW syndrome. It was a nuisance all my life but it became a serious problem after I turned 65. Doctor McBride explained everything to me in detail, performed the operation, and at 67, I now feel like I have a new heart. He is not cold, but very professional. He is very, very technical competent about a very complex subject, heart electrical engineering. He is not a conversationalist, but has a sublime sense of humor. Just be prepared that your interview with him will be quick as his services are in high demand. Consequently, he does not have a lot of time to do a "fireside" chat. I believe he may be the best "electrician" when it comes to the heart in the DFW area.
