Pleasant disposition; experienced practitioner
He has a pleasant bedside manner. Obviously, he is great at his clinical skills. A physician recommended that I see him for my problem. On procedure (colonoscopy) day everything went smoothly, The staff was terrific. There are negative comments posted here about the office staff. I had a very different experience and felt everyone was professional and nice to me, a new patient. I am glad I chose this practice and would recommend them.

I’ve been a long term patient with Dr. Fields probably 30 years. He’s a fabulous doctor but more than that. He’s a fabulous person and I probably need to come see him but if you wanna go see him, he is the best.

Waste of Time
Waste of time. Don’t come to this man with a real problem. He doesn’t listen, and he doesn’t care. His bedside manner is absolutely deplorable. “Nothing we can do about that,” is the last thing you want to hear when you are doubled over in pain and begging for help.Condescending, arrogant, flippant, disrespectful, and inappropriate.I suppose he’s fine if you don’t have any real problems, but don’t go to this man if you have any real issues.I wouldn’t give him a single star if I had the option.Mr. Fields, in the future, if someone’s problem is above your pay grade, admit it and refer them to a doctor that is capable of helping rather than gaslighting them into thinking their pain isn’t real.

Dr. Fields provides a very professional, yet personal level of care that I have greatly appreciated. I would 10/10 recommend him for any gastrointestinal needs. If there is a wait, it is because he is so well trusted in the Memphis area that he is in high demand.

My first office experience was not pleasant. The staff are not friendly and never smiled. You get better service at Chik-fil-A. I was already nervous and the wait to just see the DR was long. My second office visit did not go any better. When I arrived the door was locked. Had to knock. Change your door knobs. Then they forgot me for 2 hours. Never heard my name called once. The nurse said they would try to figure out what happened. I would say the check in desk would be the best place to start. She acted as if I had disturbed her. Of course everyone was nice after that. Dr Fields is OK but I feel your staff that greets your patients reflects poorly on your office. I thought I might even get a letter of apology. Never happened and I won't go there ever again.

There has been a serious decline in the services of this office since I started in 2009. Since April, 2017 my care has not been taken seriously, the crowning blow was a Friday afternoon 1:45 endoscopy appointment that finally took me from my room at 4:45pm---intolerably inexcusable. There was obviously an overbooking problem and this is not the first time I've experienced this. Now I see there is incorrect information on my chart saying I was tested at 2:15.

Dr. Fields is nice and thorough but i was told multiple times by the nurses that i would be called back with my test results and each time i never recieved a call when promised. That is just ridiculous and not necessary. There are too many good doctors in Memphis to go to a facility who do not care enough to call you when they say they will!!!!

Doctor Fields is hands Down the BEST Doctor that I have ever had. Not only is he very patient and kind, but it's clearly obvious that he actually cares about you & your specific condition. Doctor Fields is extremely through during exams & checkups. It's really nice having a Doctor who I can completely trust. I am very lucky that he was able to both find and remove a Polyp that I had that usually doesn't occur in women my age. Dr. Fields and his staff are absolutely amazing!
