Dr. Downes
Unlike some medical practices, I saw Dr. Downes pre-operative, at surgeries, and postoperatively. He took his time and explained everything well. Highly recommend.

Very responsive
I had what I considered an emergency eye issue and though I had never met Dr. Downes, he squeezed me in for an appointment the next day. He gave me a thorough exam, gave me a good explanation of my condition, allayed my fears, and scheduled me for treatment in a relatively short period of time. I've been extremely satisfied with the treatment.

Dr. Downes was insulting, impatient, over-confident, and a poor listener. I was shocked when he presumed to tell me that the previous eye surgeries I had endured had not occurred. I tried to get across to him that the experiences were unforgetable and not the sort of thing I'd ever want to fantasize, but he continued to try to gaslight me, repeating that I was wrong, and "sometimes patients get confused." He may, or may not, be a skilled practitioner. But someone so closed-minded, so unwilling to take in new information, it seems to me, would be inclined to have poor judgement and be prone to medical errors. Not for me.

I do not trust this doctor. Went in for one thing and then I’m told I need surgery urgently. On second opinion I didn’t need surgery at all. They wanted me to wear an N95 mask for surgery. Turns out unconscious people should not wear N95 as it’s unsafe. Insurance says N95 is not to be worn by patients. I do not trust his ethics as they are clouded by profit motives.

Dr Downes is excellent! He has done cataract surgery on both eyes and I am thrilled with the results. He answered all of my questions and explained in detail what my options were. I will recommend him to anyone who needs cataract surgery.

While visiting ABQ for three months I awoke one night with severe pain in one eye. I was able to get in later that day where I saw Dr. Kenneth Downes. He diagnosed a problem with the cornea and proposed a plan for treatment. I felt confident in his treatment. He took the time to discuss the issues with my eyes and the treatment did improve the situation. Everyone in the office was pleasant and helpful. I ended up being seen several times over the following weeks and I never had a bad experience.

Dr. Downs is the best, he goes above and beyond with his patient. I feel extremely happy with my cataract surgeries results. It is awesome to not have glasses for distance after 47 years. I see so much details in natures scenery. Thanks
