I have been with Dr. Tolan for 8 years and never had a problem with a medication or with discussing problems, stressors, issues etc. He takes whatever time is necessary to complete your medication management. His office staff is courteous, but they are decidedly slow. It's better to insist you speak with Doc as they will not prioritize your issue and often get the issue wrong when reporting to him. As he does not accept any insurance, I am unsure why he needs two persons in his office, but you would think with two people and such a light work load, patient calls could be handled better.

Dr. Tolan is the best psychiatrist that I have ever seen. I've been a patient for 8 years and he has stuck by me, and listened to my concerns at every visit. He is unassuming and comfortable to talk to. Even though he has a wealth of knowledge and experience, he sees people as equal. He is a blessing to the profession and his patients. I would recommend him to my closest friends and family without question.

He is barely ever at facility I go to for psychological health. Barely listens to patients, and rushes you through the appointment while doing so. Takes FOREVER to respond to calls about difficulties filling a prescription, difficulties that could have been avoided had he submitted the pre-authorization paperwork for my meds. I have been seeing him for 5 months and just last week he got the pre-auth stuff worked out. I cannot wait to switch doctors.
