Dr. Kavitha Kotrappa, MD

I made my initial appointment with Dr. Kotrappa because I needed to be put on an SSRI. My appointment was conducted via video chat, and she didn't ask my height, weight, or pre-existing conditions. She prescribed a sub-therapeutic dose (discovered after getting second opinion), and when I was having side-effects like falling asleep at the wheel, etc. she told me to "play around with the dose" until it "feels right." As someone who has never gone to medical school, I felt uncomfortable doing that with a new medication. She also was 40 minutes late to my first appointment, 20 minutes late to my second appointment, and both of them she told me that she didn't have a lot of time to meet, even though I scheduled my appointments weeks in advance. I am typically an understanding person, but just felt so disappointed and let down by her.

She’s been my doctor for 12-13 yrs and I love her and if she’s not available her PA’s are very good I do not mind seeing them at all. Right now Jason is her PA and I will see either one. They are both always on to of things! I would reccomend them both.

Been a patient for many years now and always get great care

My husband and I used to be her patients, but changed due to her misdiagnosis and medical neglect. She failed to notify my husband that his blood test showed that he was pre-diabetic. Hence, he did not get the care he needed to prevent the onset of diabetes II. She also ignored years of my complains about hair loss and fatigue until my condition got so bad that I lost half of my hair in about a week. After doing my own research, I tested positive for hypothyroidism.

charging Co-pay for $250 hospital visits and $25 office visit together ahead without even checking patients who came for normal routine annual checkup. Office staff say they just changed rules few weeks ago but did not inform me when I took an appt the day before.

Need to refill prescription and rx was denied by MD because she wanted a mandatory office visit to refill a drug I have been on for years. I also had a scheduled appointment for an annual check up in a few months but was forced to make an extra appointment just for refills.
