Not a great time with them
They were chronically disorganized, never could find the test information from tasks they requested, were chronically 30 minutes to an hour late. They dont really listen very well and when working with them to get the medication you need they make costly mistakes on their end on refilling and refuse to fix their ways when you try to talk to them about it. Im currently out of medication and they, although the pharmacy and I are both saying theres clearly no refills, they are denying all my requests to refill it and this is just generally how things go with them as an example. Unbelievable.

I'm very excited about working with my new psychiatrist, Dr Huges. The intake interview, was long and incredibly thorough beyond any I have ever had with any doctor (I'm 78, so you can imagine how many doctor I've seen.) I feel the therapeutic process has already begun and helped me deal with some difficulties that came up in the succeeding days. She gave me some techniques from EMDR to start using at once. We had lots in common, and I have great hopes for the work we will do together.

pill pusher
Hughes wildly misdiagnosed ms and then put me on the wrong meds to treat the disorder I didn't have. when refilling a prescription for a commonly addictive medicine that I was supposed to be weaning off of she doubled the dose. when confronted about this she blamed the pharmacy when in reality it was the nurse that she left in charge while she was on vacation that messed up the prescription. Hughes took no accountability whatsoever for her actions. she is among the most irresponsible doctors I have ever dealt with and was thoroughly unpleasant to deal with the entire time.

Medicine Pusher
I had previously been prescribed meds by my PCP and then began working with Dr. Hughes. I had uncomfortable side effects on the meds that persisted, so I stopped taking them after several months. In a follow up visit, I shared that I had taken myself off of the medication. (I realize that I should have done this in consultation; however, I was done suffering. My mental illness was not as bad as the side effects from medication was.) Dr. Hughes scolded me, told me that I'd end up back on meds, and that the next time it would be for life. It felt very threatening. Five years later, I'm not on meds. I wish she knew how harmful that felt to me.

Dr. Hughes misdiagnosed me, prescribed me damaging prescriptions, and was not attentive to our appointments. I did not feel welcomed by her, I did not feel heard, and I don't believe my concerns were adequately addressed.
