I needed to seek medical advice on a injury to my leg from a fall. I visited Med Express since my doctor was unavailable at the time. Dr. Turco was on duty when I went to the Med Express office. I could not have found a better doctor who was very friendly, professional, and genuinely concerned for my welfare. She took the time to thoroughly examine my injured leg, then took all the precautions, had an X-ray and two Ultrasound procedures performed to be sure there were no dangerous blood clots AND to examine the damaged tissue in the two areas of my leg that were affected. She then contacted me later to explain all of the results to me over a call. Dr. Turco is a rare find in the medicine world today!

I saw her twice because my personal family doctor wasn’t available and both times she was professional, thorough and helpful.

Had an initial visit for me and my family for preventive care (which I said several times so it would be coded as such). I get the bill and find that additional codes were added to the visit because she suggested and wrote an additional prescription (which I have not picked up because I can't find where it was sent). I called and asked about this and "there's nothing they can do." Legally nothing was done incorrectly but ethically is a different story. When a patient asks for certain services the doctor should respect those wishes, OR at least tell the patient if we start discussing other things we're entering another set of coding that could cost you. I feel like I was taken down a road that resulted in additional services able to be billed.

I have seen Dr. Truco for 2 years now. She always wants to add on tests with each regular routine visit, which I have never had another doctor try to do. This past time I went to see her I specifically told her I did not want a test done and she did it anyway. I only found out once I received a bill. I read her reviews recently and saw reviews about similar issues. I definitely should have taken those reviews into consideration and switched doctors before my last visit.

In contrast to the previous physician group I went to where getting an appointment took forever and once there I felt rushed, Dr. Turco's office is a refreshing change. The staff is friendly, appointments are available quickly, and I like Dr. Turco very much. She is very thorough and doesn't make me feel rushed. After a recent procedure, one of her staff called a few days later to follow-up and see how I was doing. What great service! I'm so glad I found State College Family Medicine.

Wouldn't recommend. Not helpful with diagnosis and took extremely long to fax my referral information over to a specialist.

After seeing Dr Turco on a Friday for troubling symptoms I was having, someone from the office called me the following Monday to check on me. I have never in my life had a provider have the office call ME to ask how I'm doing. I was really impressed with that. She is easy to reach, understanding, has good bedside manner, and is a pleasure to work with. She spends a lot of time with you, and never makes you feel rushed.

I hit my out-of-pocket maximum quickly, thanks to the multitude of tests. All she wants to do is schedule tests, scans, and more tests and scans, and never thinks of the person who actually has to pay for all of this. She has no bedside manner and she instills no confidence because we continue this ridiculous test and scan process; it's like she does not have enough experience. I'm no better and, in fact, now my blood pressure is high. Go figure.

I saw her twice. Said I needed blood work to determine my issue. I agreed. Next month I get a bill from her for over $300. Since all they did there was draw the blood I thought that must include the blood test itself. Six months later I get bills from the company that did the blood work for almost $700. And the test showed nothing. I then went to another doctor who told me the blood test for my issue was totally unreliable and a waste of money. Never again!!
