I had a short term experience with Dr. Glover-Collins. I went to her because I heard she was very competent in her field. I found her to be the most unkind, unfeeling doctor I have ever been to. When a person receives a cancer diagnosis the last thing they need is a doctor with such an incredible lack of empathy as Glover-Collins. I don't care how competent a doctor is there is no excuse for the kind of behavior that Dr. Glover-Collins delivers.

She was very knowledgeable and informative. She explained the surgery in detail. The day of the surgery I was extremely nervous, she eased the nervousness. I would recommend her 100 times over.

Dr Glover Collins poor bedside manner
I’m just reading the comments here and I’m reminded of my first meeting with this woman. She consulted with my mother when she first found out she had breast cancer and her lack of sensitivity was atrocious. My mother was terrified and she left this woman’s office confused and even more terrified. I sincerely hope she’s never allowed to speak to patients again, especially when they are exceptionally vulnerable.

Skilled doctor but overall horrible experience
Dr. Glover-Collins is a very competent, knowledgeable, skilled doctor who is respected by her peers. Getting in to see her is ridiculously hard. The office is extremely hard/impossible to reach by phone and messages through the app are answered days after sending (if they're answered at all). The wait time to see her once you're at the office is atrocious--at four different visits I waited over an hour to be shown to an exam room, and over thirty minutes once in the exam room to see her, at each visit. Each time there was no explanation or apology. Her bedside manner is acceptable as long as you don't question her or ask for further explanation at which she gets frustrated/annoyed.

regret getting surgery done by her.
I would recommend her she did my surgery in 2020 has no compassion for others or the pain they are going through if you look at the reviews you will see what others went through she didn’t help me with my pain after surgery she made it 10x worser I suffered since 2020 because of a surgery you did!!!!!! I suffered daily after that severe back and neck pains to the point where now I have arthritis!! This didn’t happen until after she did my surgery!! I wouldn’t recommend anyone to her at all do not go to her!! Look for another doctor.

Dr. Glover-Collins is an exceptional doctor. At my initial appointment, she spent considerable time explaining my condition and my treatment options. On the day of my surgery, she spent time putting me at ease. I knew I was in excellent hands.

Totally Unprofessional
I was diagnosed with breast cancer and referred to her. I was told to not be late to my appointment so I showed up early, about a half hour. I was in the room earlier than my appointment. I waited a long time, about an hour and a half and an assistant came in to examine me. She told me I would probably need to have my breast removed. I was shocked. She left and I waited and waited. I had a friend with me and that helped. About 3 hours into the wait 3 ladies came in to tell me they were sorry, but doctor was consoling a patient. At about 4 hours into wait Dr Glover-Collins came in without an apology and got right to the business of my exam and consolt. She was very dry in her approach. She shared much data and information that she was very capable. I asked if she would advise her own mother whether to have a lumpectomy or masectomy. She said she could not advise only give facts. I left in a daze and got a general surgeon.

The Unknown
Referencing: June, 2022 Family participation for Mary-Ann. A big, "Thank you" to Doctor Glover-Collins, Doctor S. Clawson and LUWAN for, "Lifting my daughters crown and having her back" during the trying times for her breast surgery. Doctor Collins, Doctor Clawson, Luwan, great TEAMWORK because it is the element of waiting the unknown results that frightens. End Result for you all: Our family recognizes your, smiling, good, bedside manner. Thank you, also, to BJC Services departments.

Find Someone Else
Although my surgery with Dr. Glover-Collins was adequate, everything about my cancer care at Washington University was poor. Initial appointments took months to schedule, little information was given to make life-changing decisions, and communication problems were significant (including scheduling my surgery at the wrong hospital and not recognizing the error until the day of surgery.) No communication was initiated even weeks after lab results were posted in MyChart. Questions during my visits were met with responses such as "we already talked about that" or "it was in your welcome packet" so I did not get many questions answered. If you have breast cancer, go somewhere else!!!

Dr. Glover Collins seemed to be an expert in her field. However, she had poor social skills and bedside manner. This is a very sensitive time and we were looking for more attentiveness or compassion. It was not a great experience and we will seek another surgeon.
