Dr. Karina Fajardo, MD

Dr. Fajardo is a wonderful psychiatrist. She is kind, empathic and knowledgable. She takes her time with patients and truly cares about them. She is an excellent clinician.

My experience with Dr. Fajardo was pretty awful. As one of the previous reviewers stated, Dr. Fajardo does raise her voice in session or on the phone when you call her. I can only speak from personal experience with her, but she rolled her eyes numerous times at me in session, was always belittling me, and making me feel like what I was saying had no merit. She is not one to validate. A psychiatrist that rolls her eyes at her patients is not a worthy psychiatrist. This doctor should learn how to treat patients as human beings when they are going through some of their toughest moments. Very disappointed in my experience.

I've seen psychiatrists that have misdiagnosed me countlessly, but since seeing Dr Fajardo, she's helped me be comfortable approaching my mental health and diagnosed me in a way that I was comfortable with. With other conditions I have, she asked me a LOT of questions and I had about 3 visits before she prescribed me any medication. She's careful about increasing dosage and concious of other conditions (mental or otherwise) that I have and talks me through side effects. She's a bit sassy, but she knows what she's doing and displays the comfort of a woman who knows what she's doing.

Previous to Dr. Fajardo, I saw the same psychiatrist for 14 years and thought I was doing better. After moving to Miami and seeing Dr. Fajardo, she has helped me more in the last two years than my previous Dr. ever could. Although she makes it clear that I can rely on her for help, her insight helps me become the best version of myself inside and outside the office while also being supportive of my strengths, weaknesses, and needs (to put simply she caters to her patients personal needs).

Dr. Fajardo is a very professional psychiatrist who clearly understands what I am feeling and is very personable. She understands all my symptoms and is always available when I need her. I can truly say that she is one of the best.

Alarmingly unprofessional, with a sassy demeanor, using expressions to express dismay like "ay pero no se", in Spanish, which means, "hell if I know". She is clearly out of her intellectual depth. A psychiatrist needs intellectual rigor and emotional empathy to treat patients, and she has neither. When I called during a breakdown, she chastised me for missing an appointment. She is a pill dispenser- not a worthy psychiatrist.
