Dr. Kari Lathrop Capaul, MD

We have been patients of Dr. Capaul's for the past 18 years. She was recommended by our physician in Madison when we were relocated to the Appleton Area in 2005 and we could not be happier with our choice. She is friendly, never rushing a patient in and out even if her day has become hectic, and she takes the time explain options and other information clearly. She presents issues with options and truly listens to her patients. We appreciate that she is thought out in her recommendations without jumping into a radical response and ultimately let's the patient decide what will work for them without feeling as if they have to defend their personal choice. We will continue to use and would recommend her to anyone!

Wanted to discuss possible new medication. Used patient portal first. Dr. Kari gave me option of virtual appointment, but I preferred in-person discussion. We discussed all pros and cons and agreed to 30 day trial. Dr. Kari has been my physician for a number of years and I have always found her to be a good listener and caring provider.

Failed to diagnose gallstones based on my symptoms and suggestion. Recommended Prilosec for 30 days rather than an ultrasound, which would have confirmed GS. Had an episode on vacation -- out of network -- that landed me in the ER which proved my self-diagnosis correct. Her office leaves a general callback # in VMs which wastes my time on hold when I return the call. Not an active listener -- talks a lot during consults. She's a good Doc if you're healthy. Works PT, so long waits for appt.
