Dr. Palmer filled in for my PCP while out of office. I do not accept being condescended to or disrespected. I felt both when speaking with Karen. I feel most comfortable when talking to someone with a personality. I was not comfortable during this visit, it felt more like an internet search than discussion with a doctor. I don’t fault people for having poor social skills, however, being judgmental, rude and not listening are character flaws to me. This was a very flawed appointment.

I would not recommend Dr. Palmer, particularly to anyone struggling with their mental health. I left every appointment feeling more anxious than when I arrived. I do think she is knowledgeable, but I found her incredibly cold and difficult to confide in. Her bedside manner is quite poor.

She is judgemental and belittling at times when she doesn't agree with me about my decisions. I would not recommend her for someone who is dealing with anxiety and or depression as she is insensitive and doesn't have good bedside manner with mental health issues. I did really like her at first but over the years I have been increasingly frustrated. Time to look for a new doctor!

We were patients for approximately two years until she made my teenage daughter so uncomfortable with her questions during a physical that we left the practice. She’s condescending and doesn’t believe patients and doesn’t see fit to have a parent present even if the child wants them there. My then 13 year old daughter was so upset that Dr. Palmer kept asking her if she was sexually active and if she wanted birth control even after she said she was not. She left the appointment saying, “mum she thinks I’m lying”. Maybe someone else would like her and I’m sure she’s competent enough, but she’s not a good fit for my family.

I think the best way to describe my 6/22/20 visit is that I cannot wait until my next one in December!! Dr. Palmer has a very unique gift of not only presenting diagnostic information but more importantly, inspiring me to do better and better to lower my health risks. She gives me freedom to disagree on risk of certain treatments yet tacitly drives me to beat the risk algorithms or to otherwise prove them clinically flawed. The determination she instills is with me every day an by God, I want to prove I can attain my last and final weight loss goal, which is 100% my responsibility that I let myself become obese. If I can attain this goal by December, I will have lost over 60 lbs. over a 2 year period and my blood work and blood pressure has correspondently improved to near "perfect" levels (within AMA guidelines) in my opinion, probably "acceptable" in practitioner terms to a patient. There is always room for improvement and Dr. Palmer is a quiet yet powerful inspiration to me!!

Karen has been my primary care doctor since moving to the area 18 months ago. I've never been much of a doctor person and hadn't been to the doctor in many years. After finding myself with a new health condition that needed a doctor, I chose Dr. Palmer. She has been great. She's very practical and empowering, but has also been very compassionate helping me talk through and understand my condition and options. I also appreciate her military background and see that professionalism, politeness, and efficiency in her staff and practice. Finally, I wanted a female doctor with the DO training, which were both important to me. I highly recommend Dr. Palmer as a primary care doctor.

I went in for an issue with my hips which were causing pain on walking. After several tests and procedures, Karen was able to pinpoint my issue and offer some relief. I found her to be professional and able to translate from terms to ordinary language. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a straight forward Doctor.

I have followed Dr. Palmer for years. Wherever she goes, we go. Both my husband and myself are very happy with the care and concern she shows at every visit. Follows up on everything. Staff is also very efficient and friendly. Dr. Palmer came to us as a recommendation from our former PCP who was moving to another area of practice. We are grateful to have her as our PCP. Thank you Dr. Palmer for everything that you do.

I enjoy Family Medicine because it allows me the opportunity to work with patients not only on their chronic illnesses, but also healthy preventative measures. In addition, treating patients of ages from the infant stages to the elderly is challenging and extremely rewarding.
