Dr. Karen Kindervater, MD

This was my experience with the office of Kindervater and Carrol not necessarily Dr. Kindervater personally. We (my teenager and I) arrived at the office for a 5 p.m. appointment, there was a sign outside the door indicating to call and let the receptionist know you arrived. Because the office was closed nobody was answering the phone. When I finally did talk to a receptionist (15 minutes after my teenagers appt. was to begin) they were rude and then proceeded to tell the counselor that I was upset, who then confronted me. Once with the counselor my teenager than heard about the said counselors religious and political ideologies. The counselor also proceeded to downplay my teenagers feelings of anxiety. I felt the situation was very un-professional and the counselor assigned to my teenager was not a good fit. I requested a new counselor and never heard back from the office. I did get a lengthy email from previous counselor confused why I was asking for a different placement.
