Compassionate, Caring, Knowledgeable
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Urnes’s for over seven years now.Having an extremely complex vascular history that dates back over 50 years, I was absolutely amazed at how thorough she is, and how much she knew about my prior Vascular history when I first became her patient. She spends quality time with you, and makes sure to leave no stone unturned in her Patient Care. The North Olympic Peninsula, which some people express difficulty in finding highly skilled specialists, I have found at the specialists located here are not only highly skilled, but passionate about their Patient Care. Dr. Urnes exemplifies this finding. I highly recommend her.

Unnecessary nuclear medicine test called.
I am a reasonably fit late 50 year-old. Had a heart issue a few years back but have since made changes to my diet and 5 to 7 days a week I’m taking a half an hour brisk walk as well as my job, which is physically demanding. All that to say walking 20 minutes on a treadmill to do a cardio stress test would be no a problem. Instead Dr. Urnes called for a nuclear stress test that I almost had them call the EMTs because of how sick the injection made me feel and then later I was billed almost $1400. The test Dr Urnes called for was both unnecessarily costly and unnecessarily risky. Even the techs who were administering the nuclear medicine test where asking each other why I wasn’t doing a treadmill test considering how physically fit I am. I am filing a grievance and going to try to get my money back. Nuclear stress tests net doctors more money. I won’t be going back to Dr. Urnes.

Dr Urnes explained why I should take a medication I didn't want to. Her straight forward approach was very refreshing. If a friend asked me about cardiologists, I would definitely say go to see Dr Urnes. Thank you.
