Fortunate to have found her.
Dr. Beatty is very practical and thorough. We work together in addressing issues, each listening to the other arriving at courses of action in my treatment. I find Dr. Beatty warm, open and non-judgemental.

I’ve had some positive experiences with this practitioner in terms of medical care, though she did attempt to prescribe a medication that was counter indicated in my circumstances. She’s also unresponsive in urgent situations. I have additional concerns with the office. Both her front desk staff and her office manager (husband) are respectively rude and incompetent. She bills for letters of accommodation, an extremely unusual practice designed to squeeze every dime out of her patients, which has been noted in other reviews. Tacky. I can’t recommend the office at this time.

I find Dr Beatty to be very receptive, warm, kind and a good listener. She is well trained and very knowledgeable. I do find her office person to need a little additional customer service training. She can come off too matter of fact and uncaring. I overlook her because Dr. Beatty is so wonderful.

Dr. Beatty is the absolute best! She is so thorough and really listens to your concerns. Scheduling was easy and they have a new office manager that is very organized. The virtual visits have also been a great edition during the pandemic. Very pleased with my experiences with Dr. Beatty and resilient healthcare!

This morning we checked in for an appointment. We were unable to clarify our new insurance card situation on the spot. We were given the option to PAY FOR THE VISIT, or PAY FOR THE MISSED VISIT. Since we chose the "missed visit" option, we were told that in addition to paying $80 dollars, we COULD NO LONGER SEE DR. BEATTY because this was the third time we had failed to keep an appointment, and NO REFERRAL TO ANOTHER PROVIDER WAS OFFERED. After reflection, we called to request our $80 back, since we hadn't actually missed the visit. The receptionist shared that DR BEATTY had graciously AGREED WE HAD NOT ACTUALLY "MISSED" THE VISIT, since we were signed in and ready to meet. BUT since we "MISSED THE VISIT" we wouldn't be refunded the $80. My takeaway is this: YOU DIDNT MISS THE VISIT SINCE YOU WERE READY AND WAITING AT YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY THE $80 "MISSED VISIT" FEE BECAUSE YOU "MISSED YOUR VISIT". ARE YOU MESSING WITH MY MIND ON PURPOUSE DR. BEATTY?

Dr. Beatty is so kind and caring. I've been dealing with a NP at another mental health group and she was cold and judging. Dr. Beatty listened to me for over an hour (our first appointment) and then gave me some new meds to try as well as lifestyle changes to help with sleep and anxiety. Can't recommend her enough and her office staff was very helpful as well.

I love Dr. Beatty- she listens intently and is very warm and welcoming. She is working with me to find solutions for my clinical depression. She was recommended to me by my previous psychiatrist who was the first doctor to really provide relief from this debilitating condition. He was Dr. Beatty’s mentor when she was working at VCU. Everyone’s experience is so subjective that I don’t know if reviews are all that helpful. But my take on Dr. Beatty is that she genuinely cares about me and wants to find answers as badly as I do.

Only 2 people in the practice, the psychiatrist and the lady from front desk. There is a manager behind the scenes, possibly the psychiatrist’s husband. There was a counselor but she left the practice. The front desk lady has no idea of what she does! She is not friendly, does not know how to talk to people (especially being a mental health practice, she should know better). Management is confused. They are very new in the business and have no idea of what they are doing. If you send them an email through the portal, ALL people in the practice will receive it without you even knowing it (you think you are emailing the psychiatrist but even the grumpy front desk lady is reading it). They are violating your privacy! Also, They do not keep a correct track of charges, so be careful if you are overcharged and always keep your receipts, always check numbers with insurance to see if it makes sense. Also, NEVER try to make appointments by email as they are not very organized.

She “fired” my daughter as a client. Said she missed two appointments and that was a violation of the office policy. My daughter begged them to take her back and that she really needed the therapy. She was told her their was nothing they could do. I understand business, as I have owned my own for over 30 years. But as a business owner that even isn’t in the mental health “business” I put people first and make exceptions to policy. People aren’t just dollar signs. You just basically told my daughter that she wasn’t worth more than her copay. You shouldn’t be in the mental health field. I now have a daughter that is trying to get better and overcome an abusive relationship that made her feel worthless, and now has to start from square one because she broke your “office policy”. I guess the likelihood of you meeting us at the ER if she attempts suicide again is out of the question unless we prep6y for your services?

I called in for a first appointment and the receptionist refused to schedule me after I told her I prefer not to delve too much into my medical history with her specifically, as I've had issues with staff breaching HIPAA. She proceeded to ask for details about who I had issues with, so I did my best to sum it up without reliving it, and she had the nerve to be snarky about my hesitation. Very judgmental and unhelpful.

Dr. K. Beatty is an intelligent, knowledgeable and compassionate Psychiatrist. She is professional and wise as she outlines and formulates the best medical treatment for her patients. She listened and reviewed my psychiatric history. Her recommendations were clear, precise and current. She carefully organized my personal medication plan. Dr. Beatty has transformed my life. My Bi-Polar Disorder and Anxiety have significantly improved. I am less afraid as a mother, wife, artist and poet.
