Terrible First Visit!
I was recently seen by Dr Shaw for pain in my left thumb and had the worst experience I have ever had with a Scripps specialist. He provided a total of three different diagnoses for my thumb pain, then gave me two injections of cortisone, a $108.00 overpriced simple thumb brace, and a referral for therapy with a hand specialist. How is anyone to know what is working and how well with cortisone, a brace and therapy simultaneously? Would I consider having him perform surgery on me? Not in this lifetime. I could not trust him.

Not only a nice fellow, but an experienced pro.
He had the same painful tests I took. I have no doubt of his diagnosis. Our discussion was short, sweet and very accurate.He gave me several options, probabilities of success, and open door follow up. Not the usual for a large institution.

Dr. Shah is an incredible doctor.
My scar in less than 10 has almost disappeared. You can tell from the first time you meet Dr. Shah he cares a lot for his patients. I am so pleased with the results. The tendon transfer was a complete success.

Good Medical Care
Dr. Shah performed surgery on my thumb for a cut tendon. He explained everything along the way and in my after surgery appointment. He answered all of my questions and was not hurried or rushed. I was visiting Oceanside and he found a doctor for in Ohio. The staff in his office were pleasant and helpful.

Broken Finger
Dr. Shah took care of my broken finger and now I'm back to playing the guitar again. I was worried that this injury would affect my ability to play, but he put a couple of pins in my finger to hold it together while it healed, and it worked.
