Can Be Blunt But Is on the Ball
I don't want to be dismissive of the 1-star patient's experience because I've been in this same situation of different ppl having different results with the same provider. Dr. Chivukula can be blunt but she was very communicative and on the ball. I'd say we have similar personalities when it comes to working. As a complex patient struggling with health problems, I appreciated how much she took on. I did struggle somewhat with being a former go-getter now handicapped and her being a current go-getter and seemingly disappointed in me at times that I wasn't better yet with a reversible disability. (Trying to get spinal intervention care for an injury but the spine intervention doctors have all repeatedly dropped the ball.) Other doctors who have been "nicer" often failed to follow through when I needed them. Dr. Chivukula left the primary care center where I was a patient without any notice, and I've had to get two PCPs to replace her.

I am very pleased with Dr. Kaavya Chivukula, she is an excellent professional. The time she spends listening to detail, her examination and assessment along with the quick response and follow up to emails / phones calls is exactly what I look for in a primary care physician.

Poor Bedside Manner
I went into the office for a same-day visit as I got a covid diagnosis 01/24 but was still experiencing symptoms as of 02/14. After waiting nearly an hour to be seen by the doctor, I found Dr. Chivukula’s bedside manner to be very lackluster. She was dismissive of my symptoms and concerns and even went as far to tell me that the treatment I received at a prior PCP was industry standard and has helped others and then just kind of stared at me as if she didn't believe me. She also critiqued the symptoms I advised I was experiencing. All in all, I left the visit feeling worse than I came in as I now felt like the person I came to for care wholly ignored me.
