I have always found his staff amazing and kind. Anna is the absolute best, she has a warmth about her that is rare. Dr Thompson has helped me tremendously with controlling my chronic pain. I get calls back and medication filled without any issues. He listens, he cares and I’m happy to have him as my Doctor. Dr Thompson will be doing a nerve block to help ease my neck pain in a few days. I personally think he and his staff are some of the best. Some of his patients could have better social skills and a little more respect for those around them in pain. Also, I love his anesthesiologist, she has a good sense of humor and a calming sense about her.

Excellent provider with many treatment options for his patients. Has a friendly and engaging staff. Provided options that other providers did not. Excited to get relief I had given up on.

Finally Getting Relief – Mar 17, 2024

Just a pill mill with a hateful staff
Dr Thompson doesn’t listen to your concerns. He also forgets everything that happens between visits and doesn’t review your chart or his notes. When his office staff, especially Anna the office manager, is hateful and rude , he tells you to go and work it out with her instead of running his office and staff. If their brand new nurse can’t hit a vein during a procedure they tell you you’re holding up the line and kick you out still in pain. Then they blame you for it. Anna gets away with everything and the doctor does nothing. He is only concerned with getting patients in and out as fast as possible to keep the money rolling in. Calls don’t get returned, the doctor doesn’t get messages, and if you try to talk to him about this he just ignores you. They also overbilled my insurance company and refuse to fix it. This is just a pill mill and the doctor doesn’t care about anything other than money. No answering service, no help on weekends when they forget to send refills

Zero Follow through; Zero Communication
I was not impressed with the office of Dr Thompson. Following my first visit, I did not receive the prescription they said they were going to call in for me before a business trip. Never received a reply when I called to inquire about this. I went on my trip in pain, called the office again when I got back in town, the nurse with whom I spoke was going to check with the doctor and call me back. I never received that call back either. Then last week, over one month following that initial appointment, I received a call from imaging lab regarding an MRI. I told the lab that they can close the file that I will be finding a different doctor.

Rushed, and not listened to.
I have never in my life felt more ostracized by a doctor, he didn’t listen to a single thing I said without interrupting me, or dismissing me. On top of not having my appointment information, despite making the appointment online, on the Foundation website.

Dr Thompson didn't do a exam, he didn't listen to what I was trying to tell him about me being a new patient with the insurance and they made me do a medication naive which you are only allowed a bare minimum of medication in which I sent him files saying what I normally get he was more so advertising a pain pump instead of my concerns and my pain issues. He does not respond to emails or returns phone calls. His assistant does not return phone calls and barely response to emails. They treat you like a addict instead of getting proper information.

Frustrated Patient – Aug 07, 2021

I love Dr. Thompson! I was referred to him from another pain management doctor. I've been seeing Dr. Thompson for at least a year if not more. I've never felt rushed or that he was in a hurry when speaking with me or while at the surgical center having procedures. He is very detailed in describing what his treatment plan /procedure is going to be and answers any questions if I have any. I know that from conversations with me he keeps himself informed on any new treatments on the horizon. He has helped me so much with managing my pain! I like that he started with the least invasive procedures. So far I haven't had to have any major invasive treatments.

I was in to see Dr. Thompson for pain management on my neck. I was referred to him by means of my neurologist. I went to his office. When he came in, my appointment was very rushed. He didn't so much as look as my records or prescriptions I was on because he prescribed the same medication I already take and I told him this in the appointment. I was told that someone from his office would be contacting me to set up a steroid shot appointment prior to having another surgery for another reason. I'm still waiting. No one has contacted me from his office to schedule anything. Needless to say I will find someone that will spend the time to talk to me and not rush my appointment, have my medical facts correct, and contact me for a procedure that is recommended.

I have seen Dr. Thompson for lower back pain due to an injury since the spring of 2016. He is a really smart physician who listens and works hard to understand his patients. Dr. Thompson never jumped to a conclusion about what I needed done to feel better. Instead, he based his decisions for my spine injections on the facts from tests I had done and listening to me explain my symptoms and work with me to get better. Don't hesitate to see Dr. Thompson in his new office in Plano!

Multiple offices, none is close to me. The appointment reminder system sent me to the wrong office. -- I never waited less than an hour and a half. -- The doctor **STARTED** with the most invasive procedure possible (surgical implant of a pain pump) without trying other procedures. -- There is no way I would recommend this doctor. If you have a better experience, more power to you.
