Dr. Davis saw me in 2014 at Overland Perk Regional
2014 I had been suffering from a herniated disc for 10+ months. My insurance would not allow me to have the MRI needed to see a neurosurgeon. After the agonizing, long weight, I was granted the MRI. Dr. Davis’s office got me in very quickly. Surgery was scheduled for the next week. I came in a wheelchair because by now I couldn’t walk. After the surgery, I could walk out, same day. I was so happy, I hugged his neck. Years later (2022) I began to have severe back pains again and I searched for this doctor. Dr. Davis is now at KU Medical Center. He explained what was wrong and scheduled me for spinal fusion of L3&L4. Surgery was scheduled, Dr. Davis used a computer operated robot. I was up and walking right after the surgery and went home the next day. I will search for Dr. Davis for any future spine problems.

Waste of time
This poor excuse of a “doctor” couldn’t be bother to take the time to even discuss what I have been going through since 2018. He basically walk in the room stated you MRI doesn’t make me a surgical candidate and walked out. Didn’t ask any questions and seemed bothered to even be there. I called to get a second opinion from a doctor I have heard great things about but because I “saw” this guy I can’t be seen by any other spine doctor at KU MED! I was randomly assigned to this guy and now I can’t advocate for my own health. I wish I had read his reviews prior to going to this appointment. Word of advice don’t waste your time. I hope even one person finds this review and it stops them from going to this guy.

Run Away, Walk Away, Crawl Away
It was a disaster. I left Colorado with the ability to hike miles at elevation. After moving to Kansas I experienced severe back pain. Dr Davis said he would make 4 incisions and put little baskets around vertebrae. Well, he make 5 incisions, and after surgery I still had pain. After ‘recovery’ and now at home I discovered I had ‘drop foot’. Two years after this botched surgery, I can only walk with a custom brace and either a cane or trekking poles. My hiking days are over. I can only hope that with continued therapy I will be able to walk on these level tame trails. I curse this man’s name every day. He destroyed my life.

KU Joke of a Doctor
My 8 minute visit with a halfass assessment, mr Davis said “you’re fine, just keep getting injections” I asked “so what’s causing my pain” mr Davis said “sometimes we just don’t know” I went to a major Medical in Chicago and saw a real doctor who took the time and cared enough to make a proper assessment and everything will be remedied soon.

I had an appointment with Dr. Davis to discuss back surgery. I have been getting back injections for years but my pain just keeps getting worse. The pain is effecting my daily life. Dr. Davis was, blank is the best word to explain it. He quickly showed me a spine that I doubted was my MRI. I read the MRI and Xray reports and nothing he said included any of the findings on the reports. He said nothing would help and basically I was old and had to live with it. He said he probably had the same problems in his back, I doubt that I am in my late sixties. I have had two other doctors recommend surgery but I was not ready at the time. l left his office feeling terrible. His lack of compassion left me feeling hopeless. When I discussed this with another doctor I was told she had heard this many times about him. I would never recommend Dr. Justin Davis.

I chose Dr. Davis for my surgery after working with him and his patients in the Ortho/Neuro/Trauma unit of an Overland Park Hospital. He is kind, knowledgeable, thorough, and conservative in his treatments. I like that he is not always ready to jump into surgery as a "fix". He spent a lot of time with me, showing me the MRI results and explaining what he thought would help me the most. His office staff are great to work with and appointments were easy to schedule.

Dr. Davis looked at the MRI of my cervical spine and confirmed the need for cervical spine surgery. I was in a dilema as I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery that had to be completed over the summer as well. The cervical spine surgery had to be done first. Dr. Davis went above and beyond by coordinating the cervical spine surgery with the orthopedic completing my knee replacement surgery. As a teacher and a single parent, I am so grateful to get both of these surgeries coordinated..

If I could give zero stars, I would stay FAR away from this Dr. He has given horrible care to my mother. He never disclosed important info about the surgery that has caused major issues during this very lengthy and incredibly painful recovery process. The only way she found out about what happened was because her internal dr went above and beyond to find out the specific details (4 months after surgery was performed). Do not trust this man w/your life or loved one's.

I am very pleased with my entire experience with Dr. Davis. From the initial consultation to surgery to follow up appointment, Dr. Davis was very easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. I was a bit anxious about spinal surgery, but he eased any anxiety I was having. I was in severe pain before surgery, but I am now pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Davis.

Dr. Davis has NEVER been on time!! I've never waited less than an hour in the waiting room and then just shuffled to a room to then wait more time. Nobody checks on you or gives you updates on when you will be seen... you just wait and wait. He was even late for my surgery. The office staff is none to friendly but then again, I would hate my job if I worked there. They charged me to fill out my FMLA/STD paperwork but then never filed it. They said they would refund but never did. Beware!!

I waited an hour and a half to see Dr. Davis on my first visit, he was late for my surgery, and 45 minutes late for my follow-up visit. If you want to know anything, you better ask because he will not tell you otherwise. I am still waiting for my insurance forms to be submitted. They charged me $15 for this and said it would be 5 days. It's been 5 weeks. My surgery went well but I still have numbness. I would NOT recommend Dr. Davis for any surgery of any kind.

I had a very good experience when I went to Dr. Davis on my last visit on May 16, 2017 for the review of my MRI on my back. Dr. Davis is a very good doctor and he takes the time to explain everything to me. So I highly recommend him as a very caring doctor and he made sure I understood everything that is going on with my back pain. He also gave me wonderful information on what steps to take with my treatment for making me feel better. I have nothing but praise for him.

Dr Davis appeared to be tired or completely disinterested in my condition. He asked a couple of questions about the location of the pain. When visiting a specialist I expect an exchange of information, but almost everything I learned, I had to ask about. Very disappointed with someone who claims to be a professional. I read his reviews online and the red flags raised, I should have gone somewhere else.

Dr. Davis is very good at what he does, had lower lumbar surgery he told me everything he was going to do. I felt very comfortable with him. Just 3 days out of surgery and I have no more pain from my static nerve. He gave me my life back. Thank you Dr. Davis.

This guy is a real piece. Did an laminectomy on me, cut my dura causing a severe spinal fluid leak. He tried to sew it and tore it more. He didn't have the skills to fix me and instead of calling one of his associates to help he sewed me up, sent me home and told me not to come back. Justin Davis is a true BUTCHER that cares about nothing but his ego and I ended up with sevsere nerve damage and will be on pain meds the rest of my life. Steve Pinegar

I came in with a very dear friend who had cervical disc herniation. My friend was very anxious about possible surgery as she also has scoliosis, so her anxiety and concerns were very warranted. Dr. Davis took the time to explain in depth what her MRI showed, along with the type of surgery that would be preformed to help relieve the pressure and pain she was experiencing. Surgery was scheduled within 7 days and was successful. Dr.Davis took the time to get to know her and the outcome was great!
