Dr. Junping Chen, MD

He was the attending anesthesiologist for my surgery at Mount Sinai West. He went against my expressed wishes. Put me under without telling me beforehand. Intubated me when I expressly stated that I did not want intubation. Gave me many hours of unnecessary sedation and anesthesia when I expressly stated that I wanted purely a nerve bloc ( my surgeon agreed it would be fine with him for me to not be put under).Dr. Chen told me I should have anesthesia as I might move. I told him that in that case I wanted the smallest amount for the shortest period of time. He did not abide by my wishes, put me under much too soon and because my case was delayed, I had hours of unnecessary anaesthesia and strong sedation. Four months later, I am still have problems from the surgery. I hope they are not permanent.
