I’ve been seeing Dr Sturm for a few months now and am completely satisfied with my care. Had the left cateract removed in Feb and having the right one done next week. Had no problems at all. She’s great doctor.

Excellent doctor and a wonderful staff
Dr. Sturm is an excellent Ophthalmologist. I am a physician and I have sent the majority of my patients to her since she started practice. My patients all have done very well with their procedures. Her staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend her to my patients and friends.

Disrespectful staff
My mom had suffered two major strokes back to back; which took her independence. I'm now her full time careraker. My mom had a procedure scheduled during this time. We missed the appointment as well as we couldn't get the drops that were recommended due to everyone stating it was on backorder. My mother had been in and out of the hospital and rehab for almost 6 months. The staff decided to criticize me under the circumstances for not having the drops. The doctor stated after looking at the damage to get eyes from the strokes that the drops would not have made a difference. The doctor was very professional the staff not so much.

Infantile
The old joke the difference between god and a surgeon. God doesn’t think he’s a surgeon! Applies to this woman.

I was there on three occasions. The first she came in and sat down, then while looking at eyes began a mumbling numbers to herself and then left At that time she asked me which I like better the salve or drops and I replied that the salve, as I was used to using it. I Left with her instructions to apply the salve. The next occasion the environment in the office was overcast. She was angry and belligerent because she and her assistant decided I had not followed her instructions. That was NOT her instructions, and she became argumentative and even more angry. She stalked out of office. Finally gave new instructions and left the office. I asked the assistant for written instructions. On the final occasion the assistant ordered me around and yanked my walking utensils putting them in the farthest corner then huffed and puffed around. The doctor arrived and said my eyes had healed, surgery was next. I asked if I was done. She replied YOU ARE DONE WHEN I SAY YOU ARE DONE!

I saw Dr. Sturm yesterday. My appointment was at 2:00. It was 3:45 before I saw the doctor. OK - I've had many doctor appointments and that happens sometimes. But when she came into the room she barely looked at me. I almost felt like I did something wrong. Told me what I already knew. You need surgery and my staff will schedule. Didn't ask me if I had any questions. Have a nice day or anything. She may be a great doctor but I need someone that relates to me like I'm a human being. I'll find someone else.

I had a really negative experience at The Eye Center with Dr. Sturm. Every appointment I had to wait a long time. My most recent appointment was at 4:15pm and I wasn't seen until 5:30pm. Each time I was seen I had to go through my entire history again. I felt like I was starting at page 1 each time, when I really wanted a relationship where the team knew me and my medical history. Yesterday, after seeing Dr. Sturm several times over the past 6 months, she completely denied instructions she had previously given me and accused me of going against her recommendations. This is patently false. I take my eyes seriously and take notes after appointments. I told her exactly what she had previously instructed me to do and why. I was shocked, confused, and upset. She said "there's nothing more I can do for you" and got up abruptly and left the room. She didn't put my plugs in, which is why I was there. The main reason for my appt wasn't taken care of. I will not be back to The Eye Center again

Dr. Sturm is an excellent doctor. I had two cataract surgeries with her and it could not have gone better. I must say that her bedside manner is not warm, but she is efficient, professional, an excellent doctor and the care I received was excellent. Additionally, her St. Peter's staff is outstanding! My wife will need cataract surgery within the next year and she will be going to Dr. Sturm.

I was able to get an appointment right away (the next day) but the wait in the office was about an hour and a half. Dr Sturm’s staff is very thorough , taking notes and asking questions. The Dr was obviously knowledgeable and very thorough as well but did not seem very personable. She checked my eyes, told me what I needed to do, prescribed medication and she as gone. I can’t complain, though, because my eye problem is cured.

I met with Dr Sturm several weeks prior to cataract surgery and she explained the procedure in detail. Her staff gave me precise instructions to follow both pre and post op. There were no suprises during or after surgery and things appeared brighter and in better focus without using glasses even with only one eye done. I can't wait to have second eye done. Dr. Sturm was highly recommended by my regular eye doctor, and for good reason, she knows her stuff and she is excellent at it!

I recently had my eyes examined by Dr. Sturm. I’m sure she is a good surgeon. A pretty lady, but completely devoid of any friendliness , kindness, or empathy. She comes in, no “hi how are you?”, examines my eyes as if she was angry or I was taking up her time, then gets up and leaves without saying a word. On the way out I told her nurse to thank her for me because I didn’t get a chance to. Her nurse says “ Oh, she’s like that sometime”. Now, everybody has a bad day. If you like being treated l

She did not perform the needed task to fix my eye. She loves poking things with a cotton swab and suggesting a hot compress instead of fixing the problem. Her negligence resulted in a eyelid surgery performed at a different eye center by a competent and willing doctor that provides what their patients need. I have gone to Dr. Sturm for several things and she has been negligent every single time.
