Sneaky Paperwork Visit
They do not inform new patients on the phone prior to the visit all that is entailed when setting up an appointment to fill out paperwork. They hand you the paperwork, you fill it out and think that's it. Nope. Then they have you come in to get your weight and blood pressure. (She asked me to remove my arm out of my sleeve. I declined because I thought that was a bit invasive especially since it's not behind closed doors but in the office area.). Is this a medical professional or an office assistant? Then they have you go into an examination room so they can take a saliva test to screen illicit drugs. How do they even know I'm going to be put on meds? It's just a paperwork visit! I mentioned to the front desk that I thought the whole process was sneaky and invasive. She told me that they don't tell patients what is going to happen ahead of time. Not all psych patients have drug issues. I think this should be something that should be handled on an individual basis.

They have staff write good reviews on Sher rather than actually help mental health patients when in need. Take you as a joke leave you like it’s funny too

This office will schedule you a visit one to to months in advance. You have to see their therapist first. The therapist sends you a link via text to join a zoom meeting. You then schedule an appointment with their psychiatrist and have no say in which one you'll be seeing, and you will have to wait another month or two. You then, apparently, are SUPPOSED to get an email with a link to the Zoom meeting, but they don't tell you that. If you don't get the email, you miss the meeting, because you are expecting a text to link and not an invisible email that you never get. They then schedule you out another month even though they admit it's A KNOWN PROBLEM. So basically check all avenues of communication because you don't know how and where you will be receiving directions for Zoom meetings and if you don't get one, call them and leave a message because no one ever answers the phone there.

Dr. Sher’s team is truly one of the best! Dr. Sebi Fishta went above and beyond for a close family member who was in crisis after a tragic family loss and other family complications. We had very little time left for evaluation before my family member had to travel out of the country also! My family member felt very comfortable talking with Dr. Sebi. He felt that Dr. Sebi really understood what he was experiencing and was able to impart some very useful tools for immediate use. I am so grateful we were referred to Dr. Sebi by a very close confidant. I highly recommend Dr. Sher’s team. I believe they may have saved my family member from falling into deep depression.

Dr. Sher's team of doctors is amazing. A close family friend had an urgent need, and Dr. Sher's team went out of their way to ensure that our needs were met immediately and with the utmost professionalism. Dr. Sebi Fishta went above and beyond to fully evaluate and coordinate everything to make sure that we didn't need to worry about anything. We went from overly concerned to having peace of mind in what seemed like overnight. This is how all healthcare should work! Most grateful! Amazing job!

I'm not sure why Dr. Sher has so many negative reviews. I have been seeing her for seven years now and I could not ask for a better psychiatrist. Her staff is professional, answers calls in timely manner, very kind. Dr. Sher thinks outside the box to help her patients, genuinely cares, always gives me enough time. I am always able to get ahold of her when I need to. She is an excellent listener and always involves me in my plan of care. She makes sure to address every issue of my mental health from my therapy, to weight, job, living situation. She also asks very good questions and has helped me when I'm dealing with other medical issues. I frequently recommend Dr. Sher to friends who need help. I enjoy working with her so much I am paying cash because my insurance no longer covers her. Very grateful to have such a great doctor who cares about her patients.

My daughter saw Dr. Sher while in high school. I found her presumptive and condescending. She prescribed a medication for my daughter that her primary care physician said he would never prescribe for someone her age because it could affect brain development in a very bad way. Not recommending!

I have been a patient for about six months now, and I have seen quite an improvement since I started a therapy. I felt that Dr. Sher is compassionate, and genuinely wants to help. My therapist gave me great insights about my condition, which is ADHD, which I was also diagnosed with at this office. Overall, my life changed greatly for the better, and with proper medications and therapy I feel like a fully functioning adult for the first time.

Dr. Sher does see anyone in person. She sees ALL patients over Skype- NEVER in person. You have to come to the office but she sits at home. The most impersonal Doctor I have ever come across. It is a shame she is allowed to practice.

I scheduled an appointment to discuss serious issues, and this hack has the audacity to do it via Skype, where I have to go to her office and sit in front of a screen??? Oh, and her staff will not tell you this untli you're walking in to her office. What a joke of a "professional practice".

Dr Sher wouldn't be physically there to conduct your medication therapy, she would actually diagnosing your case from her dining room table chatting with you over Skype. Front disk needs some serious training and maybe coaching on how to treat patients. Medication management was awful. Stay away.

I have been to 7 psychiatric facilities over 15 yrs. All were fine; but my medication was based on a 15 minute interview and my medication history. The huge difference in Dr. Sher's practice is their desire to know you as a complete person. They considered my physical health, and actually put me through a series of diagnostic psychological testing to pinpoint and treat both my mental illness and symptoms. I am finally stable and holding down a great job! They're the best!!
