Dr. Julie Mahoney, MD

I found Dr. Mahoney when I was around 20 week pregnant and I was happy after changing 3 doctors who were not even showing up our appointments. After such horrible experience she was a safe haven who was kind and comforting however over the years she have changed. She started to rush through the yearly checkups sometimes schedule with other doctors in the office that are available however because I was happy before and was not pregnant I didn’t mind. I wished I could do the same for my second child so I was obedient mostly. The last drop was cancelling my appointment that I set two months ago after changing it’s time 3-4 times. The reason was she didn’t want any patients afternoons anymore, which would be okay if they told me while I was scheduling. They made me make for 2 months and cancelled my appointment. So disappointed and frustrated and sad I told them I am not their patient anymore. Clearly she wasn’t the caring doctor once I had anymore. It was also very unprofessional of her

Shocked, saddened and angry with my prenatal care and birth experience with Dr. Mahoney. For each appointment she was with me a total of 5 minutes, always rushed. She had a hard time keeping track of who I was, mistaking me for other patients. Being my first pregnancy, I had a lot of questions and concerns I would mention during my appointments. Dr. Mahoney would respond by saying "don't worry about it", and "I don't have a crystal ball to know what will happen during delivery." It only got worse - she provoked me going into labor by performing an extremely rough cervix check at my 37 week appt. I bled and my water broke the next day. Dr. Mahoney didn't arrive at the hospital until next day and said she wouldn't be able to deliver my baby since she had other appts. but stuck around since she wanted to perform a c-section for her convenience (lied about why I needed it) asked to skip out of the surgery early and left! I'd check the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies before seeing Dr. Mahoney. She was sued for leaving a sponge in someone after a c-section. When I asked her about it, she badmouthed the patient, calling her an alcoholic. I ignored that red flag. She encouraged me to get induced immediately after I started having contractions, because it was a Friday. When she was stitching me, she told a nurse she was doing "creative stitchery." Part of my labia turned necrotic and had to be cut off.

I only have the best things to say about Dr. Julie Mahoney and the Colorado Women's Health Center. I stumbled upon this practice in my search for an OB-GYN doctor when I moved to Denver. And I am incredibly lucky to have found them. Throughout challenging pregnancies and the time in between those, Dr. Mahoney has been a constant source of reliable information and comfort. She is very pragmatic in her approach but still manages to build meaningful relationships with patients that demonstrate her

Dr. Mahoney is by far the most amazing doctor I have ever been to in my entire life. Highly recommended to anyone, you would be very lucky to have her as your doctor. She is extremely professional and so caring and kind.
