Excellent Physician
Dr. Magadan is an excellent physician. He has really picked up the pieces where other doctors have left off. My mother-in-law is a tough case and Dr. Magadan is very attentive to her. His 'bedside' manner is admirable. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Magadan and if I ever need a Rheumatologist, he's my go to. I honestly wish he were also a primary care physician!

Phenomenal
I have 3 ongoing conditions and could not find a doctor who was willing to listen to me, that is until I found Dr. Magadan. He is hands on and has been very attentive to my issues. He has been open and transparent with me and has even called me personally to discuss our plan of action. I believe I am in really good hands with Dr. Magadan. He has gone way above and beyond any doctor I’ve ever been to, including chemo docs). He provides excellent care, is willing to go deep into a rare set of issues, treats and speaks to you as an equal member of the team. I would highly recommend him to anyone with an immune disorder.

I have seen Dr. Magadan 2 times, about 3 yrs apart. The first time was great! He listened to me, explained things well and generally seemed to care. I really liked him. He ended up diagnosing me with fibromyalgia, which to me isn’t really a definitive diagnosis, but I trusted him. When I saw him the second time, I had had a positive ANA test result with Lupus shaped cells that my PC performed. I felt like I was in a flare, so she sent me back to Dr. Magadan. I was having increased pain and felt like that was a good choice to go back to him. When I went for that appointment I felt like I was with a completely different person. For whatever reason he was short with me and didn’t seem to care at all. He said he would order blood work if “I wanted him to.” Well, he’s the doctor! Shouldn’t that be his decision? I ended up saying yes, I wanted the blood work, but it wasn’t done. I conversed online with his nurse and she made me feel stupid, too. I’m still in pain with no answers.

Dr Magadan has a wonderful bedside manner and he is genuinely interested in helping his patients feel better. He is the most caring doctor I’ve seen, and I’ve been to several who dismissed my symptoms because they didn’t know how to help me. He stuck with me until he found what was going on and I’ve been driving for an hour, one way, to see him ever since. I highly recommend him.

Horrible staff. Dr Magadan is nice but if you have anything out of the normal type of questions to ask, he fails to answer. So in 5 or 6 years of trying to make it work, I’ve had it. The nursing staff constantly changes and they are all horrible. Not refilling prescriptions, sending in the wrong prescriptions etc. If you have a question about a medication, you can just forget about getting an answer. Go somewhere else and save yourself years of pain, fear and frustration.

Very sad -- I liked Dr. M and thought he was great. But I was late scheduling a routine check up and Dr. M refused to fill my prescription for an essential daily medication until I could be seen -- the soonest appointment available was a month out. Now I'm searching for another doctor who will fill my prescription before my joints swell up. How is this ethical?

Dr. Magadan took a genuine interest in my well being and health. He listened to my symptoms and discussed each of them and what's happening to my body. I was at a loss before seeing Dr. Magadan and he offered a diagnosis and treatment plan. He explained my diagnoses in a way that was easy to understand and gave me faith that there are still some doctors out there who listen and aren't just in it for the money.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Magadan III?
I have textbook RA and was diagnosed by a noted rheumatologist at the NYU rheumatalogy center. Dr. Magadan told me I didn't have RA and instructed me to take pain meds (tramadol) instead of hydrochloroquine (limited side effects vs pain meds), the latter which had been helping my symptoms tremendously. When I pushed to get another diagnosis vs. being told to just take pain meds I didn't receive a suitable answer. I immediately went to another rheumatalogist and was told I have RA...go figure.
