If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. As a young person, I think many people tend to overlook back problems. I experienced back pain for almost a year after giving birth, and during that time, I received various opinions and was referred to different doctors. Finally, I saw Dr. Lugo-Pico, and after deciding to proceed with surgery, my pain disappeared instantly. I had thought I would have to live with this pain forever. Now, almost two weeks post-op, I am off all pain medication and feel like my old self again!

I have hurt my back in Afghanistan and underwent many surgeries including fusions and a spinal stimulator with no relief. I was at the end of my rope with pain and medication. Dr. Lugo-Pico took over my care from another Vanderbilt spinal surgeon, who sort of blew me off due to age. Dr. Lugo Pico impressed recognized the problem upon reviewing my MRI and LISTENING to my wife and me. The surgery he offered me has almost completely my issues, especially my pain.
