18 years of top tier care
We met Dr. Ayer when our daughter was discharged from the NICU. She was born at just 24 weeks and had numerous issues which Dr Ayer addressed and sent us to specialists to get the issues solved. He was our doctor for 18 years and I couldn’t say more about the outstanding quality of care he provided for our daughter. Many thanks from The Jones Family.

Excellent Pediatritian
We have 3 children and have been going to Dr. Ayer for the past 10 years up until our move out of state. Julian has always given exceptional care to our family. Our daughter was found to have a heart defect which Dr. Ayer referred us to a specialist for and the problem was resolved. He is always so kind with our children and does not talk down to them or us as parents. He always initiates conversation in a very kind, caring way. I have found Dr. Ayer to be highly knowledgeable and even when we may have not agreed on a particular treatment plan, he was never pushy or condescending. He would explain the facts and his reasoning behind it but never made me feel forced to do any treatment for my child when I did not feel comfortable about doing so. (This was over delaying vaccines in my children which they did eventually receive and are now fully vaccinated-I just felt for comfortable delaying them at the time). He was also apologetic over wait times which are out of his control.

Avoid him like the plague
The only person who knows a child better than the family is the child. He refused to listen to our daughter, refused tests, initially refused referrals to specialists, but told us she/we needed a counselor. She now has a handful of complex diagnoses - all of which Dr. Ayer missed. He could have eased her suffering with earlier intervention, as I had pleaded with him. When our youngest daughter presented with similar symptoms he was dismissive, then aggressive. We have a complex, and in some cases rare, medical family history. When we left our last appointment with him, our youngest daughter asked us why he wasn’t helping us. Listen to your children. Trust your parenting instincts. Avoid this doctor.

Dr Ayers is mild mannered and talks to your child in a friendly way. He is great at providing basic care, but when it comes down to complicated problems or conditions that are not common, he has not been willing to look into things or work with doctors who are ND’s or specialists. He doesn’t like run many tests and sticks to the basics. So, if your child has medical issues beyond basic illnesses, he may not requests tests and or make then referrals to specialists needed to help your child .
