Dr. Julia West, MD

A week ago, I called 911 for my mother and arrived with her at MUSC ART Emergency room.After waiting for 15 minutes, a nurse came to see me.She said doctors were examining her and she was in good spirits and joking around.15 minutes later a doctor came out and pulled up a chair and my life changed forever.She told me my mother's heart stopped beating. Her eyes were absolutely filled with compassion and concern when she told me that the team started CPR. She asked if I wanted to come back to see my mother.As I watched the team of 12 or more doctors and nurses working methodically on my mother, I knew much time had passed and it seemed futile. Someone finally found her pulse and measures were taken to keep her alive on a ventilator.  40 minutes had passed. 4 days later, my mother was excubated.  While her long term memory is intact and she recognizes family,her short term memory is not good. She is talking and her personality remains. I cannot thank Dr. West and the team enough.

Doesn't use simple common sense in the evaluation of her patient's diagnosis. Totally rude, dishonest, and disrespectful. Concerned about being right and failed to consider her patient's view. No compassion . Absolutely no people skills. Not a professional.
