Dr. Julia Goodwin, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Julia Godwin for over five years. Throughout this time, she has provided professional and excellent care. She genuinely listens to my concerns and values my input. Despite understanding that emergencies can happen, I have never experienced long wait times. The staff is consistently friendly, professional, and courteous, making each visit a positive experience.

My experience with Dr. Julia Goodwin was bad. My first appointment was just to get me in there, and after that, the doctor didn't pay any attention to my symptoms of my body. I'm a black woman, and it's already hard to get medical treatment from doctors. Some will listen to their patients, and some will listen to certain patients. Dr. Goodwin didn't listen to me describing my symptoms, and they were life threatening. I did not go back for a second appointment, because I found her to not be the doctor that was advertised on Channel 7 (featuring a black woman talking about how good she was as a doctor). The t.v. advertisement was just to get other African-American women in as patients. I was given a high dose of pain medication, which caused me to bleed, etc. I telephoned the doctor's office, and I was told to keep taking the medication that was causing me to bleed. I dropped this OBGYN (Goodwin), and I never went back for another appointment. I found an OBGYN that will listen to me.

It wasn’t the 2-3 hour wait each time I saw her that was the problem. The problem was when I reported pain to her and her response was that “it was in my head due to my religion and culture”. I’m neither white nor Christian but I don’t understand what that has to do with my medical concerns. I was shocked to hear such an ignorant and racist comment from her. I never went back to her after that.

Long wait time for doctor and lab work. Difficult to get appointment time that worked for me.

Was very disappointed with this doctor. I waited two hours to be seen for less than five minutes. The nurse and doctor stared at my stomach(overweight) while she preceded to deny helping me with anything!!! She literally told me to go back to my old doctor. I've never met a doctor who judged my health by my weight alone. She degraded me and my self esteem. I waited over a month for this appointment! This was the WORST experience I've ever had with a doctor!!!

Dr. Goodwin takes the time to listen and answer questions, and I have received excellent care. The office staff has been so helpful and kind with any questions and concerns that I've had as well.

Dr Goodwin is a top notch, best choice OBGYN. She is compassionate, listens well and provides excellent care. I am so glad that I found her.

I'm seeing Dr. Goodwin for my prenatal care and I have had nothing bUT positive visits. I had quit a wait my first appointment due to ultrasound technician being late but other than that no problems. Everyone is very nice and genuinely seem like they enjoy their jobs. I definitely would recommend Dr Goodwin to anyone.
