Dr. Julene Evans Murage, MD

When I inquired about how late the office was running, I was told other patients were late. Well, they lost a new patient rather than making late patients wait.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Murage for a few years now and didn’t have any issues-just going in for annual exams. Now, as a 26 year old woman, I’ve ran into a few health issues over the course of this past year. First off, I felt dismissed when I tried explaining the issue, which ended up being a misdiagnosis altogether. Additionally, she completely went MIA anytime I contacted her on the patient portal, which she told me she checks often. Lastly, instead of trying to figure out the root cause of the problem, she kept pushing the idea of birth control as the fix. Truthfully, I was extremely frustrated and just didn’t feel listened to.

I hadn't been to a gynecologist in a number of years and found Dr. Murage thru my health insurance. I knew something wasn't right, but wasn't sure what exactly was going on. During the internal exam, Dr. Murage discovered I had a prolapsed uterus. I decided I could live with it and do kegal exercises, and she agreed it could help. The kegals never worked, so when I went back for my yearly exam, we decided to do a hysterectomy with bladder/rectum repair. Dr. Murage was assisted by Dr. Sliwinsky. I had the surgery on Jan. 25th, 2023 and it was grueling. I stayed in the hospital one night. I'm now one week post-op and am feeling really good, no complications and just taking it easy. I think Dr. Murage is a very compassionate and caring doctor.

Misdiagnosis and completely MIA. I would not recommend.

She incorrectly issued a script for a mammograms and caused me unnecessary delays. When I asked her to fix the issue she as no where to be found and my insurance would not cover a second test. No compassion and no accountability on her part. I simply do not trust that she has my best interest at heart.

I chose her as my ob because I experienced a miscarriage with her before. I'm not sure if the way she treated me was as a result of her leaving Crystal Run but I was very disappointed. With my second pregnancy I was scared because of the first miscarriage and when ever I would ask her a question she would always start off her reply "well, I've been doing this for 25 years now..... ". The second reason I chose her as my ob was because my husband and I were moving from NYC to Monroe NY. On my 2nd or 3rd visit she took a urine sample and it showed I had some protein in my urine. I asked if that's normal, she started with her famous line "I've been doing this for 25 years and......." On my 4th visit Crystal Run informed that Dr Murage had left the practice. I was in total shock. She mentioned nothing to me and I only found out because I asked. I transferred care at 7 months. Ended up having preeclampsia that could have been treated from that 1st urine test. Emergency c-section.
