Went to the UCHealth OB ER this evening as my spouses blood pressure was slightly elevated and she is 36 weeks pregnant. Upon learning that we were actually planning a home birth but thought it would be smart just to be safe, we were scolded about our choice to do a home birth and my wife was told she was endangering herself and our baby. She went on and on about how home births are dangerous and how she had 5 children in the hospital (bleh bleh bleh, a bunch of info I didn't ask for). I attempted to kindly remind her that we have had no concerns and the second we did, here we are. And she continued. Before she left the room she looked at me and said, "yea I don't loose sleep over this any more". Would not recommend in the least. Will be making a DORA complaint.

Does not support informed consent or Doulas
Dr. Brinkman is not welcoming to doulas who help their clients understand informed consent during birth. Do not birth with her if you desire informed consent.

I immediately contacted Brinkman's office, to let them know I was pregnant, that it was very high risk, and that I needed to be referred to a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist right away. I was told that there was nothing they could do for me and that I wouldn't even be able to see her until I was closer to 12 weeks pregnant. They had me scheduled for two months later for my first appointment, which would put me at 13 weeks. I kept insisting about seeing the specialist and was told the referral would be put in, but every time I called the specialist, they told me they didn't receive a referral. A few weeks later, I thought I miscarried because I was bleeding so badly with clotting. I called the office and informed them of the heavy bleeding and possible miscarriage. Again, they never had me come in for a check up, nor referred me still, just did an ultrasound. I kept bleeding for 40 days straight, constantly calling the office for help, but never received it. I lost the baby at 10 wks

Dr. Brinkman is absolutely wonderful! She has always made me feel comfortable, well informed, doesn’t rush through visits and she just has the most amazing bedside manner. She delivered my twins 13 years ago and continues to take care of my GYN needs. She is extremely busy meaning getting in for surgery could take some time for non-urgent matters but that’s a sign of a wonderful physician that takes her time with each of her patients.

I have been a patient of Dr. Brinkman's for about five years and we've gone through many procedures from routine to surgery. She explains everything thoroughly and listens to concerns and answers questions. She is kind, personable, and reassuring which is very helpful for someone like me that tends to worry about my female issues.

I have been receiving services from Dr. Brinkman for almost 20 years. She has helped with various medical concerns. I find her pleasant, approachable, capable, kind, concerned and attentive. We had issues with our pregnancy and birth which were addressed and our daughter is well and healthy. At one point, I did change to a different doctor and decided to return to Dr. Brinkman. I am pleased with her knowledge, bedside manner and expertise.

I have visited Dr. Brinkman for over 16 years - 3 children and a breast cancer diagnosis later: I class her as a friend as well as an integral component of my medical team. Dr. Brinkman is knowledgeable, kind and most of all, has the courage to do what is right for her patients. She is realistic, honest and never rushes out on her patients. Her staff are also amazing. I have recommended Dr. Brinkman to friends and family over the years and as long as she practices, I will continue to do so.

I have seen Dr. Brinkman for my first child. I had a hard complicated pregnancy time - losing many pounds until 6 months. Dr. Brinkman was so awesome, giving good care of us, very experienced OB. She was very great for my Csection too. We were glad that we did found her. We appreciate what she did for our first son.

I saw her for my first pregnancy. I had some complications and I didn't feel that she treated them with the seriousness that they required. I had several other doctors who also questioned her judgements, including an emergency room doctor. She was good during delivery though. I would only recommend her to people who have easy pregnancies with few complications.
