Someone with terrible bedside manners
Terrible bedside manner. Thinks his words are like he is writing tablets on Mount Sinai. Walked out on him, told him he would not perform any surgery or remove a pimple from my arm. He left me not trusting the Memorial system. Have since found 2 different doctors that explained and answered questions with no arrogance on their part and showed compassion and understanding. My advice get a second opinion with someone who cares about patients, rather then their own ego and making money.

Best of the best
Dr. Plate performed open-heart surgery on me a few weeks ago. Before the surgery, he spent a lot of time reviewing my records, speaking to my cardiologist, and understanding my case. He answered all of my questions very thoroughly and was kind and comforting throughout the entire process. My surgery was successful and i cannot thank him enough. His staff is also amazing—very attentive, knowledgeable, and accessible.

Dr.Plate is a gifted and compassionate surgeon. He spent an immense amount of time with us answering all of our questions, some multiple times, as we were told my husband need coronary artery bypass. The outcome was fantastic in surgery. What was more impressive was that this surgeon spent an extraordinary amount of time counseling my husband during post op visits - not just on post sternotomy care but more so on the importance of continuing a healthy lifestyle if we wanted long term health. His no nonsense manor was much appreciated. Today is the one-year anniversary of my husband’s surgery and he is doing well. Thank you Dr.Plate!

Not a personable individual.During post-op visit he was insulting to me indicating that I was insane. I have always been polite with him and even congratulated him twice on a job well done.

Horrific. My father was misdiagnosed which lead to the wrong procedure. My father walked into the hospital for an elective (but wrong) procedure. He suffered cardiac arrest, coma and then death. The entire cardiology team failed him. Our lives are shattered.
