Dr. Juan Gaitan Rueda, MD

Dr. Gaitan is a satisfactory doctor medically but he has no sense of humor —every appointment was heavy and depressing —-we knew the diagnosis was terminal but he gave us no hope and wouldn’t crack a smile even when his patient was trying to make a joke. We dreaded his appointments —“here comes another downer”…I would suggest any other doctor in his practice. We saw a different doctor by chance in the same practice and wanted him after that but were told we could not switch. The manner in which you talk to your patients is almost as important as treatment. If the patient wants to joke, please lighten up a little bit. Please keep this in mind, Dr. Gaitan, in your future interactions with your patients. One plus: I have to thank the doc for a handicap pass. One minus: On one occasion, we fasted for a walking test cos it was on the paper, then told no need—fasting is terribly hard for an old person. It was a detail that was nonchalantly overlooked but affected us a lot that day. Bless!
