Dr. Joyce Stevens, MD

WAIT TIME : The worse and longest time I ever waited for an appointment. arrived 20 minutes prior and was called in over 20 minutes after app time. Got 'vitals and reason for visit by a nurse or so' then WAITED 55 MINUTES until she came to the room to check on me. REFERRRALS: Was advised needed to do health eval due to age. It took them 7months for a referral that WAS No longer needed. COMMUNICATION FOLLOW UP: Called 3 times and was told 'staff left a message to the doctor' for an exam needed. It was over 3 weeks no call back no response. Called again and again was was only told that they will leave a further message to the doctor. Still nothing. ..MEDS REFILLS.. JEALOSY????..She is good to check if a patient went to see another doctor or did a telehealth visit and what meds were prescribed... but fails to indicate which pharmacy to double check where my medication was at. or if picked up medication with my regular refills for allergies and asthma, or BP.

I recently adopted Dr. Stevens as my primary care provider based on a positive referral from a family member, and I could not be more pleased. I was able to get in fairly quickly and the wait time upon arrival has been minimum. Dr. Stevens is personable, thorough, and helpful.

She showed me no kindness when I needed it the most

I had an appointment for a blood pressure recheck because I had to switch to a different medication. Had my appointment Monday and she refilled all my meds. I had to correct her on which blood pressure med, she almost refilled my old one. Kicker is she never even refilled my blood pressure meds. She’s never done any type of examination, even as a new patient. The wait times for me are too long, I waited over an hour. I won’t be going back to her.

As I read through all these reviews, I think of my personal experience with the office the staff, the doctors, especially Dr. Stevens, the compassion she has, for my care is outstanding. I visit this office almost every month. The wait time is minimal all the support staff is friendly, compassionate. I can’t think of anything that I would change in this office every time I visit they exceeded my expectations. These reviews that have negative experiences I can safely say I just don’t understand. Michigan health specialist will always get a thumbs up for me, thank you once again for the healthcare you have provided I wouldn’t feel safe anywhere else Sincerely Tony McComb

I would not recommend this practice! From phone calls, messages to in person appointments , the staff are rude. No bed side manners in this office. Do not recommend! Will be seeking another practice!

She's a horrible doctor

I absolutely love Dr. Joyce Stevens. Even though I wasn't a fan for hurley hospital but this Dr is awesome.. I wouldn't switch for nothing..

Wonderful doctor!!! Takes time to explain and to listen to my questions!!!

Staff was unorganized and seem as if they didn't even know how to properly assist a new patient. Doctor was quick, didn't talk much or seemed concern with what I brought up. Didn't seem passionate at all.

I must say I absolutely have NOT 1 negative comment to say about Dr. Joyce Stevens or her staff. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Joyce Stevens or her staff in the 6 years I've been a patient of hers. Every issue I have had since I've been seeing her, she has taking the time to go over everything with me step by step. She listen's to me when I talk about issues I am having at the time, & discusses the options I may have relating to that issue. Dr. Joyce Stevens has always been a caring & respectful Dr. towards me. I would NOT & will NOT see any other doctor in that office but Dr. Joyce Stevens. I go every month for monthly check up's. I recommend Dr. Joyce Stevens to everyone I talk to.

Can i leave negative 5 stars?? This doctor is THE WORST!! I ran out of my anti-depressant medication, she refused to refill and I’m forced to go cold turkey plus I have a thyroid problem and she refuses to refill that prescription as well!! She shouldn’t be practicing! They lost or screwed up my blood tests and I don’t even think she gave me all the tests to check - due to her negligence and malpractice I’m having severe mood swings, anxiety attacks, etc! She’s rude, clueless, heartless.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with this doctor. I do not recommend her.

Do NOT go to this doctor! Her staff is horrible and record all sorts of inaccurate data on patient charts. She also would not refer me to the proper specialist for my health issues, without having to make many appointments to see her all within days of each other, to take advantage of the insurance company. This delays treatment and is inconvenient for the patient. It is just plain ignorance and greed.

She has a horrible staff. She will wait until you get to her office to inform you that she will not see you as a patient. She is a coward and a horrible doctor! I do not recommend EVER going to see her!

Horrible doctor. Took my sick 2 year old son in to see her. Was vomiting and had a fever that kept climbing. In the office, they measured a 104.9° temp. Dr Stevens told me that is perfectly fine and normal for a toddler to have a 105° temp. NO IT IS NOT. 105° is seizure range for small kids. Should have gone to the hospital. Won't make the mistake of seeing her again. Had no concern for my child's well-being.

Dr. Stevens is horrible. I went in to have a skin tag and cyst removed and I had a cold that day. She didn't bother to look at my cold symptoms. When I asked about my refill she said to make another appointment for that. Why would I inconvenience myself and make several doctors appointments when I am there for a visit? She does not look at you and only looks at her computer. Horrible doctor!

She is without a doubt, the worse doctor I have ever seen. Went in for a pneumonia check up, and she never listened to my lungs. She just sat and typed on her laptop. Went in for a follow up 3 days later, and she did not even come in the room. She basically blew me off.

Terrible doctor. No interest in establishing a patient-doctor relationship. Had to be reminded of previous diagnosis at every visit.. Apparently couldn't be bothered by looking at my chart before she saw me. Extremely slow with test results and often I had to call to have her reminded that I was still waiting on them.
