Does Dr. Wharton exist?
I, and my GP, grew concerned by a 'spot' on my arm. I decided to seek the advice of Dr. Wharton's office. After 3 visits (and a biopsy) I had yet to see Dr. Wharton. Apparently office visits are conducted by his CRNP...including any preliminary visit. How well versed in dermatology are his CRNP? Incidentally I have since conversed with 3 other patients of Dr. Wharton who also had NEVER seen Dr. Wharton. Forget this guy and find another Dermatologist in either Huntsville or Birmingham.

Good Doctor-bad staff
I have used his services for many years . Recently, his staff must have changed. I go at least twice a year because of several bouts of basil cancer. Staff did not contact me back after getting the biopsy. I called them after not hearing back, and the office staff(not nurse) read it to me over the phone. I asked to have an appointment to see about mohls surgery, and I had to call back-several times. I have tried to coordinate mohls surgery with Dr. Wharton and repair with a plastic surgeon-something I have done before in the past with little difficulty. They will not contact the other doctor. When I contacted Dr Wharton's office today to try to get them to coordinate surgery, they said I could try to leave a message with Dr. Warton's nurse, that she had people lined out the door and no time to do it. Also, Dr Wharton's office will not even send a biopsy to the plastic surgeon. I really like Dr Wharton. However, I am not sure what has happened with his staff.

Dr. Wharton makes you feel like you are the only patient he has, takes time to explain each detail, very caring person... I have had 4 skin cancers that required office surgery, all healed perfect. I have a 6 month check up yearly.

Dr. Wharton always takes time to answer questions. He has treated me for several minor issues with very good results. He makes an unpleasant trip to the doctor bearable. Very thorough and exceptional calming demeanor.

I would not recommend this physician under any circumstances. It takes forever to get appointments. I have been going there for several years now and have never seen the doctor. Two weeks ago I called during office hours to get an appointment. The call went to voice mail. I left a message stating that I needed an appointment and left my name and number for them to call me. I have not heard from them. I will not be going back.
