Dr. Joshua Shaw, a remarkable physician and person, performed liver surgery on me two years ago; his expertise and genuine concern for me as a person were instrumental in giving me peace of mind and saving my life. He explained in detail the procedure, and after my surgery, he came in to reassure me that the surgery was successful. His manner and demeanor gave me strength and confidence throughout my successful battle with colangio carcinoma. Patients need such optimism and assurance, giving them faith in their doctor and in their recovery.

Dr. Shaw saved my life. I was diagnosed with a very aggressive type of pancreas cancer. Dr. Shaw was involved with my care early and is the main reason I made it through the whole ordeal. He has excellent bedside manners, he is calm and patient, displays empathy, at times is very funny and reassuring. I am very grateful he is my doc. I recommend him highly to all.

Dr. Shaw was terrific, he is competent, very straight forward, put me at ease, put my family at ease. He navigated us through the whole process and I am now 1 year in remission, an achievement I did not think I would live to see, and one I would not have seen without his expertise. Dr. Shaw is my person, if you are in dire straights, he should be your person.

Dr. Shaw is without a doubt my hero! My 85 year old father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and luckily, we fell into the empathetic & highly skill hands of Dr. Shaw. He is not only a VERY skilled and highly trained surgical oncologist, his compassion and bedside manner is EXACTLY what a family needs in these types of medical situations.

I ended up in the emergency room at Westside Regional on Super Bowl Sunday. Resident Doctors on staff were great but could not source the issue without Dr. Shaw he immediately ordered ERCP and a mass covered with lymph nodes was found. I had surgery 5 days after mass was found and by the Grace of God paired with Dr. Shaw’s knowledge and expertise my 9 hour surgery was successful 80 percent of liver was removed and intestines rebuilt. Most importantly mass was not cancerous. He was extremely honest and thorough, I am so grateful that he was able to be my surgeon.

Sooooo, I went in to have my gallbladder removed & ended up having to have part of my pancreas removed as well. It was not the type of thing you want to hear, especially having an infant at home. Dr. Shaw was really great. He was super informative and answered all my questions. I had complete trust in his intentions & capabilities. He was also easily accessible & communicative post surgery, which helped alot in recovery. I like to believe I got a second chance on life, to see my little girl grow up, and that, without doubt, would not be happening if it wasn't for him. If you're given the choice on who you want in your corner, going toe to toe with a gallbladder or pancreas that have betrayed you, I definitely recommend Dr. Shaw!

This man deserves a medal, he is/was excellent beyond anything I have experienced and ultimately saved my life.
