Dr. Joseph Oliva, DO

I went to the ER for a giant skin rash on my right arm, Dr. Oliva checked it out and it was gone in 3 minutes. He had good manners and was very fast.

I’m disgusted by this Dr. My mom was taken to the ER by ambulance for cardiac concerns and despite unhealthy vitals, just wanted to give her some meds and send her home. He literally told her, “If it’s your time, it’s your time.” I would leave zero stars if I could. If you find yourself in the ER with him as your provider, immediately request someone else.

I went to the emergency room for a painful mass under my arm. Dr. Oliva looked at it, said it was a white head pimple and asked if I wanted pain meds. I declined and he left. He never came back in the room, but sent his resident. The resident did an exam and noticed the mass was the size of a golf ball. I was discharged and advised to sit in a tub of warm water until it burst.The next morning I woke up and it was the size of a tennis ball. I went to a dermatologist and found out I had a bacterial infection requiring antibiotics and the area to be lanced. The pain and discomfort that I have been experiencing for the last two weeks could have been avoided had Dr. Oliva done his job! When I have an emergency and my doctor's office isn't open, I trust going to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. If I ever see him on staff in the future, I would leave. He does not reflect the standard care that I have received in the past.

I was "treated by" Dr. Oliva in the ER at Palm Beach Gardens Medical for a skin rash. He saw me for a total of 45 seconds and he disregarded any opinion I had as to what the issue may have been. He seemed bothered that I was even there which believe me was not by choice. Also, he doesn't seem to be employed by the hospital because I received a separate bill from my insurance company for the ER visit and another from Dr. Oliva. $1045 for 45 seconds of service. That's $23.22 per second.
