Dr. Nolan is terrible. Only cares about how much he can bill your insurance for, basically a cash grab. Tried multiple times to try and get me to agree to procedures that aren't warranted. Also, be prepared to wait! Appointment time at 1? You'll probably see the doc at 2 (if you're lucky) and you'll most likely get about 5mins of their time. I get they are busy, but his time management and people skills are awful. If you challenge him about why he wants to do something or even ask "why", he will lose his mind and literally scream at you. Avoid at all costs. I am a former patient and was so happy to fire him.

My experience was 100% positive and I urge anyone reading the bad reviews to have a large grain of salt because "you can't please everyone all the time". DR Nolan was personable, and had a professional intensity that was refreshing. Doc explained that he got into this field after experiencing his Father in miserable pain after two back surgeries. He truly is interested in patient's welfare and their getting better, and not needing him, 5 STARS for both the Doctor, and all of his staff. They work together like a well-tuned machine, ...even when they are busyer than a one-armed paperhanger.

Only because 0 stars isn't available. Dismissive and uncaring, and his staff has NO idea what they are doing. They rescheduled me 3 times, twice while I was in the office because of their lack of knowledge. Finally, I just left.

I started seeing Dr Nolan after I was abandoned by another pain management physician who went by the name of Dr. "Z". This "doctor" had me on Fentanyl patches for 3 years, then cut me off cold turkey. Dr. Nolan took me in and is one of the BEST I've seen! On my initial visit, he explained in detail what I could expect from the type of problems I have. Any time that I felt that I needed to talk with him about something, he was available. Yes, they have procedures for patients to follow which are for the safety of the patient. I've messed up a few times but they've talked to me about things in a kind, respectful, understanding manner. I've never been treated rudely. Whenever I need an injection, Dr Nolan leans over to ask how I'm doing and always answers my questions. Also, each and every one of his staff are awesome! And I think I've seen each of the other PAs there. They're wonderful! Ready to answer any questions I've got. I'm always treated with the utmost respect and dignity.

Dr. Nolan has absolutely no bed side manners. During my mother’s appointment he yelled at her and belittled and treated like crap. He doesn’t care about his patients and neither does his staff. I would never recommend him.

Loved all the staff!! Dr Nolan was very professional and took his time with me where most Dr's don't. His PA was wonderful as well she really listened to me as well. This was my first visit and got nerve block injections. The first visit was about 2 hours due to how thorough they were. Only a 10 min wait to go back. I've been to primary, rheumatologist, neurosurgeon who referred me to here before jumping to surgery. Haven't felt this good in 16 years.

Terrible experience! Dr. Nolan has zero bedside manner. He disregards any other physicians or specialist opinion or findings. He thinks that he knows better than the radiologist whose read your images such as MRI. During first ESI I was scared and didn't know what to expect. He comes in the rm, doesn't speak to me at all, starts to talk to the nurse/MA about personal things like vacations and cars. Finally says "you did great" and walks out. Staff was very unprofessional. Stay away please.

Absolutely the worst doctor I have ever encountered. He criticizes other doctors. He contradicts doctors who, for instance, specialize in oncology and/or hematology; believing that he knows more than they know. He thinks nothing about patient abandonment; which is in violation of the oath he took. Arrogant, condescending hypocrite best describes Joseph Nolan.

Very unprofessional. No compassion! Talks over you! His rules are to be nice and happy, do what he says or you are out! Lies through his teeth, changes/contradicts what he says. Yells at you, in a threatening way, and attempts to intimidate/scare you. Will not tolerate your concerns or questions. Calls you a liar, if you have complaints about his staff. I have never seen such inappropriate behavior in the Medical profession from a doctor. He has a serious EGO problem. DHEC and Board help!
