Dr. Califano was kind and very professional.
How he explains and speaks you can tell he knows and is dedicated to his patients. He is a very intelligent doctor and very respected. I feel very comfortable with him and know he wants the best for me.

Not the guy I want caring for my heart.
Extremely unprofessional, used expletives with other staff in the room, and was belittling of other healthcare professionals. He was unhelpful and unwilling to listen to the history for the complete picture of the patient. With his poor attitude and lack of professionalism, I don’t feel comfortable seeing him again, and will find a different cardiologist to address my needs.

Twenty Years Later
I saw Dr. Califano following a heart attack in 2004. Dr. Califano oversaw every detail of my Quadruple bypass operation and all follow up visits. Here I am twenty years later in good health and still following his directions faithfully. I continue to hold Dr. Califano in high esteem and am thankful for his expertise and kindness.

My husband had a 100% blockage in the widow maker artery. Dr. Califano saved his life for sure. 3 stents and he was good to go in a few days. They did not let him go home until his blood pressure was perfect. Eight years later he was feeling tired, and Dr. Califano took him into the hospital to check him out and sure enough, he needed another stent. He is very attentive and my husband thinks the world of him, as do I, as my husband is still alive and well at 86.

Front desk
The front desk Maria is god awful and with has a disgusting attitude who does not like to do her job. Dr Califano often forgets conversations with his patients making it harder for further treatment when requiring specific clearances. His staff is a direct reflection of his leadership. He has zero bed side manner and is very monotone. I do not recommend anyone go to this man.

Saved My Husband’s Life!
My husband had a heart attack and was admitted to Physician’s Regional Hospital. Dr. Califano was called in at 4 am. He performed emergency surgery implanting 3 stints in my husband. My husband had lots of complications so he was in the hospital for 2 weeks and Dr. Califano checked on him daily…..sometimes twice daily., He is a true professional who is dedicated to his patients and his practice. I am so grateful that he took such great care of my husband insuring that he had a positive recovery!

Been trying to get an answer from his office for 2 months on a referral for my doctor in the same group. Totally unresponsive. Maria in this office is less than helpful. Apparently, you need to have a heart attack to get get them to call you back

Waited 1 1/2 hr in room. New to community because of the heart issues. The doctor who referred me had not sent any information to this doctor yet his office called & scheduled me an appt in 2 days. No information? Why would they schedule me to come to a hospital? The governor has told if over 65 we needed to stay in our home. I had no mask. Virus in hospital scared me and everyone else who had to be there. It was a complete waste for me to be there. I had a BIG concern & this doctor was not helpful at all. BIG WASTE OF TIME & I FEEL I PUT MYSELF IN HARMS WAY. I asked a few questions as heart failure IS new to me and RECEIVED no answer. I WISH I COULD FIND A GOOD INTERNIST TO HELP ME AND MY HUSBAND. I was really angry when I left. Almost a 2 hour wait at 8:30 appt is not right. I’m Scheduled to go back in 3 weeks so trying to get a information of this man. I need to know if he is a good doctor. NOT good 1st impression. I’ll update if I go back. Would not recommend at this time

Dr. Califano is simply fabulous. I have been his patient since he started his practice in Naples. Of my 18 stents and he put in all except 4. I would not be here today without his exceptional care.

Dr. Califano took me for an almost emergency catherazation, with one artery 100% blocked and another 80%. He discovered the 100% one to have a malformation similar to an S curve. He spent four and one-half hrs. inventing ways to clean it out and put multiple small stents to get around the curves, thus sparing me by-pass surgery. I doubt if there is another Dr. anywhere who would not have refused to try that hard, and sent me for the much more invasive solution. My gratitude is enormous.
