Dr. Joseph Brigance, MD

I was diagnosed with tracheal stenosis because Decatur Morgan messed me up, the first ENT I went to was Dr. light and he told me to go to Huntsville Hospital and he wasn’t going to treat me. I’m glad he sent me otherwise I wouldn’t have met Dr. Brigance, I’ve been seeing him since May of this year and he’s done multiple dilations and has put a trach in which I’m so grateful for. We have had our ups and downs but I wouldn’t trade him for the world. This past time I was in the hospital after a seizure he came in and took out the wrong trach the ER doctor had put in and put the correct one and make sure I didn’t hurt myself when I had the seizure, I was still out of it when I asked him to marry me but at least I made him laugh. I see him more than my primary care doctor, he checks all my boxes which is a Virginia education, caring, and being there in the event of an emergency. I wouldn’t want any other ENT.

I highly recommend Dr Brigance and his staff. They are very knowledgeable and personable. He has performed surgery on me and my wife and both was very good experiences.

Both my husband and myself are patients of Dr. Brigance. He is humorous, caring, and does not mind joking with you. Excellent knowledge in his profession. He is very people-oriented, and I felt from the first visit that I had known him for years! We absolutely love him! Best ear doctor in town to us! Highly recommend! Also, his facility is just about the cleanest doctor office and waiting room in town that I have set foot in!

Great job removing a tumor from the side of my face below my ear. A bit of a complicated process as you can end up with your face paralyzed if the surgeon damages your facial nerve in that area. Thanks to the skill and knowledge of Doctor Brigance, this and other possible downsides were not an issue. Minimal recovery was required after the operation and the outward signs of the incision were minimal. A very elegantly performed procedure.

I did a lot of research on Huntsville ENTs before making an appointment for my wife, and I'm glad that we went with Dr. Brigance. He has extensive experience in head and neck cancers and used to operate at Indiana University on all major head and neck cancer cases. He operated on my wife and removed a cancer from her neck that other doctors said would be the end. She's now five years out and has been officially declared cancer free. I can't thank Dr. Brigance enough. Throughout the whole process he was very kind. He made sure we understood every step of the process. Please go here if you have any cancer in the head or neck. He'll take care of you.

I recently had surgery with Dr. brigance to have a cancer taken out of my neck. Can not recommend this dr enough. he specializes in neck cancers and obviously knows what hes doing but is still down to earth. He explained everything and made sure I understood the whole process, answered all of my questions, made sure i was OK with everything and wanted to do the surgery before we set it up He also has a very skilled and sweet nurse. before my surgery I was so worried and stressed, and she called me and talked with me for at least an hour until I felt better. She made a world of difference in a very trying time. and my surgery went very well, I am now CANCER FREE!!!

The whole experience was great!

Frankly, I am surprised with all the good reviews. My experience with him was much different. From the moment he walked into the exam room, I felt as if I were nothing more than an inconvenience for him and/or that he simply had an instant dislike of me. I found him to be totally impersonal, humorless and almost, not quite, but almost, rude in his demeanor. However, I will give credit that the medication he prescribed did the trick and am definitely grateful to him for that but will not return.

Dr. Brigance came highly recommended for a tedious, detailed surgery for my husband's. cancer removal in ear and jaw areas, known as parotid gland removal. We weighed out the options of a four hr surgery against all options.. Dr. Brigance called my husband at home to further explain the needs & benefits of the surgery. It was completed today and from all indications, was very successful. Dr explains things in a way that we could understand, down w earth, quite skilled, he was not pushy, Grateful
