Dr. Joseph Benjamin, MD

Doctor always the “ busiest” ?! My son had fever of 104 wouldn’t wake up was brought in to ER Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak location on Mar.10th treated with Dr. Joseph Benjamin MD team. Blood drew, Xray took, we were told by one nurse he was fine, nothing was wrong with him, doctor Benjamin never showed. We were happy, went home. Until today on the 14th, took him to PCP who also associates with Belmount net. Dr. Naomi looked into Beaumont Hospital my son’s test results, who told us he was not fine, the X-ray and blood sample from the 10th shows he had throat inflammation and pneumonia! He should have been treated with antibiotics right away on the 10th with Dr. Joseph Benjamin whose team told us my son was totally fine. I’m really upset because children under 5 years old of 14% death rates from pneumonia, my son is only 3 if doesn’t treat timely! So I called in Royal Oak ER, my voice was peace, I just want to know what was the reason for them to not telling us the truth and not treating him properly, we need to get an answer from Dr. Joseph Benjamin’s office or directly from him. After delivering above information, my first two calls were just hanged up directly, with not one single word explaining! I didn’t want to give up, called in again, the nurses didn’t want to speak her name clearly to me, so I couldn’t get her name because she just mumbled her name a few times to make sure I don’t get it and she didn’t give me changes to be clear, just transferred me without letting me know to a number where she know no one actually answers. I tried another time, same thing. No one made any comments. Not even a guts to tell me we’ll look into the case give you an answer when the doctor is in the office. For sure we are very upset, but we just want an explanation, we were hoping Dr. Benjamin can handle this incident as a grown-up, do not hide like a little baby, their reaction is literally more upsetting. This wasn’t our first bad experience with them. Is there someone who has similar experience and how would you handle this situation besides a silence?!! Thank you for who may reading our frustrations. We just hope our son to get better soon! ??

We have had two excellent experiences with Dr. Benjamin. He truly cares about his patients – it shows in his demeanor. He is thorough in his assessments and recommendations. Great, caring, and respectful human being.

Caring and respectful, fast-walking but takes his time to explain options to all key people with the patient. Very good rapport.
