Dr. Berhmann has a gentle manner and yet speaks to the patient in a straightforward and honest language.

Be very careful. He sucked me in - he's very smart, compassionate, and a great listener. He showed deep understanding of both my mental health issues and my personal struggles. I felt I could tell him anything, things I have never told anyone. And then he asked me to join his cult. He didn't simply suggest meditation, which is actually helpful for people with my condition. He suggested TRANSCENDENTAL Meditation, which is a spiritual movement he's involved in. He knew I was a monotheist, but he recommended a practice (I later learned) whose initiation ceremony involves idolatrous sacrifice (see Wikipedia on "Transcendental Meditation technique" and "puja ceremony" which is "a prayer ritual performed by Hindus to offer devotional worship to one or more deities"). It was a betrayal of my trust, not to mention grossly unprofessional. I'm still getting over it more than a year later. If you choose to hire him, tell him at your first session that joining TM is off the table.
