Dr. Joseph Avey, MD

I’ve had nothing but great experiences at Dr Avey’s office. People that complain about staff do not understand what it us like dealing with the general public , especially low iq types. She is very helpful and good at her job. Nit everyone is a fluffy do-gooder. Dr’s and staff are effective and get it done.

The desk staff are HORRIBLE, and it feels more like you’re trying to get in to see a prison inmate than to see your own doctor, and that was my impression BEFORE COVID. They screen calls with 3-minute voicemail messages, and when you leave a message, they don’t call you back for two days. Then you’re trying to play phone tag to get YOUR MEDICAL situation or information handled. The desk person (Barbara or someone?) is brusk, interruptive, wants to debate, is unhelpful, and has an entirely know-it-all demeanor that rubbed me the wrong way from my first visit. On my SECOND visit, an annual physical, at some magical point in the exam it went from an annual physical to an additional consultation. So I got charged twice for the same visit. SO DON’T TALK TOO MUCH in your visit to Dr. Avey or you’ll pay an extra copay (I was $43 extra instead of zero). They said they were going to put my lab results on mychart. I had to call them to remind them. Good listener but you'll pay for it.

Dr Avey is the most professional and caring doctor my wife and I have gone to in more years than I can remember. When we had to move to the Orlando area; we could not find a doctor that was in his league. We only wish that we could keep him but a 3 hour drive made it impossible. We would highly recommend Dr. Avey and his Assistant Tracy, as they are both first class!

I like Dr. Avey because he’s easy to talk too & I feel very at ease with him . He’s a wonderful doctor.

Where would I be without this DR and his staff? I started with Dr Avey in 1996. He has treated me for all these years. He has been there for me for all of my medical problems and helped me to deal with a family's death. The staff will get me into the office when ever my disease has a flare up. Thank you for all the years and great medical care. You and your staff are the BEST.

Dr. Avey has been my primary family physician for about 20 years now. His service and staff have always been excellent. He runs a small office with a receptionist, one back office person and a nurse. These 3 ladies have all worked with him for an extensive amount of time and are knowledgeable, efficient and professional but friendly. Dr. Avey fully listens to your concerns and discusses all treatment options.

Dr Avey has been taking care of my wife and I for now 2 years. He is an excellent PCP, listens to our concerns and has a great office staff.

Love Dr.Avey !! But am very disappointed in the customer service provided by the front desk receptionist. She is very short and rude. Always feel like I have to be on my toes to ask questions or make appointments. If I didn't like Dr. Avey so much I would find a new physician.

Dr.Avey is a wonderful doctor who takes his time and listen to your problems
