WISH I COULD LEAVE 0 STARS! NO CARING/COMPASSION!
3 weeks after hospitalization I am still sick. After release from hospital the Florida Dep't of Health told me that I tested positive for Pertussis. My primary doctor sent me to Infectious Disease as she could not treat this. I was seen by the nurse practitioner, Amanda. She entered the room in a state of disorganization and was clearly flustered/unprepared. She told me that all my tests were negative, I am released from care, and I had a flare up of COPD. I do not have COPD, have never had it. I told her my cultures were positive after release. She went and found those records and told me I am over the virus now. I told her Pertussis is a bacteria not a virus she replied that it can be either. I asked how she knows if mine is the viral or bacterial version (knowing it is bacterial) and she screamed that she went to school for 10 years to learn this. She should go back to school. Manager came in and was nasty too. I'm told I am banned from the office. WORST OFFICE EVER!

Never saw the doctor only the NP. Doctor did return calls from me or my home nurse. Appointments with doctor are like 2-3 months out. Left hanging on what to do after initial round of I V antibiotics. Never been to a doctor or office like this one! Would not recommend!

Dr. Vasquez has treated me well over a long and difficult illness. His reliable staff is in it for the long run. It is difficult to need an infectious disease specialist. I'm relieved to have an honest, diligent physician who has taken the time to explain and help me see what choices are best for me. Don

Dr V is a very warm, friendly doctor who give a lot of thought to the care of his patients. I have had the honor of him managing my care for a few years and I only wish that relationship continued, but due to the business side of medicine that is not possible. I would highly recommend Dr Vasquez as an infection disease doctor for his genuine concern for your well being.
