Dr. Jose Tissera, MD

Dr. Tissera is an incompetent doctor who is a danger to his patients. My mother was in early labor when she was treated by Dr. Tissera at INOVA hospital. He broke her water without her consent. After she delivered my brother he failed to thoroughly check her placenta to make sure it was intact. This led to postpartum haemorrhaging. She continued to bleed for at least 8 hours while he told her that it was her fault because "she was moving too much". As she was being prepared to have an emergency hysterectomy he told my mother that she would die (she didn't). After failing to provide proper medical care he attempted to cover up his life threatening actions by not accurately documenting what happened on my mothers medical records. I am saddened to think about all of the other women that he has blamed for poor outcomes, neglected to care for, failed to meet professional standards of care for. I believe that he should not be practicing medicine.
