Disappointed in lack of Preventive Care from a DO
I requested bloodwork for my son since his levels had never been checked, but the doctor refused, saying tests are only done if there’s an apparent issue. I expected better from a DO, especially since many serious conditions can show no symptoms. It turns out my son has genetic conditions that require ongoing monitoring, making their dismissal not only frustrating but potentially harmful.

Very Thorough and Attentive
He's been me and my wife's PCP for a few months now, and I can say I'm not seeing any sign of the negatives one of the other reviewers reported. With us he's been thorough and I feel he has has shown genuine concern for us and willingness to explain, discuss, and address any concern. He is friendly and seems quite knowledgeable. I have gone to some doctors feeling like I–having recently Googled and WebMDed my particular concerns to death–am understandably having to refresh the doctor's memory a bit if they haven't encountered that before, or in a while. I've also encountered doctors who very clearly know their stuff, but are not willing to discuss or explain. But in dealing with Dr. Pharris, he already knew the information I had researched off the top of his head, and quickly rattled off important information I hadn't come across, listened and explained, and I feel has been genuinely helpful to me to get closer to finding the correct diagnosis. I would certainly recommend him as PCP.

Bad practice
He moved offices and told me to find him. I waited over 2 months to find him. He assured me he would remain my dr. When I finally found him. He told his staff to tell me. He wasn’t going to remain my dr. Very disappointing!!! He acted like he cared for me as a patient & wanted to remain my dr. To hear he wasn’t going to see me anymore was a big blow. I definitely didn’t need this right now. After I waited so long to see him & this is what I get for being a loyal patient. I didn’t want a new dr being I had been in Kentucky a yr & he had been my dr since & I didn’t want to switch around. It’s hard to adjust to other dr. I’ve had so much change & I thought he understood that.

My name is Sharon Franklin. I am a patient of Dr. Pharris since October 2021. I am pleased to say with confidence Dr. Pharris is a really great doctor. He is very attentive to what my needs are and very easy to talk with. I have been to some doctors that are not easy to speak with and are not very attentive. The minute me and my sister Mary walked in his office, Dr. Pharris made us feel comfortable. He is very kind and you can tell he is a concerned doctor, not just wanting to get you in and out. I am so sorry to hear Dr. Pharris will be leaving, because you rarely find doctors like him, with wonderful service. Wishing you great sucess in your new endeavors! Hi, My name is Mary Robinson from Maryland. I agree with my sister Sharon. Dr. Pharris made Sharon feel very comfortable talking with him. he is very detailed and concerned about the health of his patients. I am also sad to hear that Dr. Pharris is leaving. Wherever you go, I know your patients will be happy! Take care!

My PCP
He is very informative and has helped me in my health journey. Anything I've had wrong he's found the issue and either gave me options for a cure or have me meds to treat my condition.

Dr Pharris was informative when it came to tips and tricks with my weight loss plan as well as providing referrals to a local therapist to help with my anxiety and panic attacks. He was very pleased that I was wanting to come off of some of my medications and was “all for it”. He answered any questions I had and was super understanding that I get nervous at the Dr and made me feel calm. I would definitely recommend!

Extremely brisk and dismissive.
This man is not capable of being a primary care physician. He only sees the right now and doesn't think it's his business to be involved in your overall health, only the parts he chooses. He seems to believe that the things that are happening today are obviously long term situations and offers no sense of stability or a feel that you will be ok and taken care of. He also doesn't seem to know the difference between a therapist and a psychologist. If you are an entirely healthy person who doesn't have any needs in this world except to feel like you have spoken with someone who is technically a doctor and have therefor done your due diligence perhaps he would suit, but, if you need dependable healthcare rendered by someone who gives 1/16th of a rat's patoot, if you have the ability to choose.... choose wisely.
