If you don’t like people, don’t become a doctor
He acted indifferent the whole time I was there. He also seemed hostile and argumentative..and he lies. This man needs to be investigated and stripped of his medical license. If you happen to get him as your doctor in the ER, please get a second opinion from another doctor.

Incompetent doctor, even worse bedside manner
He never introduced himself so I didn’t even know if he was my doctor for a while. Seemed like he hated being there the whole time, but I figured hey at least i got my broken arm taken care of. However, at a follow up with my orthopedist I learned that dr. Birch had given me the wrong type of splint and i was at high risk for my bone slipping out of alignment. Then after all that I checked my patient notes and saw that he misgendered me the whole time despite the nurse specifying in my chart that my gender identity is male, which felt very disrespectful. I would recommend anyone who sees him gets a follow up with a better doctor.

Dr. Birch is a danger to Patients..
I visited the St. Mary's ER for chest pain, shortness of breath, and nausea with temp earlier in the week. After 6 hours Dr Birch appeared at room visibly angry and agitated. Dr was agitated by questions from a friend who had accompanied me to the ER. My friend is a Dr and was concerned about me waiting 6 hours before being seen and no discussion on test results. Dr had ordered tests but did not come to discuss them. Doctor seemed uninterested in my condition, asked few questions while he took notes on the back of torn envelope. He cut the exam short and sent me home with no meds, no explanation. My mom asked if that was standard for someone with severe chest pains and he ignored her. Dr said my results were normal and if I got worse to come back to ER. I got worse and return to ER later. My Primary Dr came to hospital read my chart and noticed I had Covid and an enlarged heart. Dr Birch never told me this and I suspect he never read my chart, he returned to my room.
