Dr. Shum surgically removed Squamous Cell Carcinoma of my hard palate. He and his staff were exceptional in helping me understand this disease. I feel very comfortable in his care. He is a great listener, empathetic, dedicated, and meticulous doctor.

Biopsy was performed by Dr. Shum office and diagnosis completely missed. After several calls by me to get a surgery date, I'm glad his office help was so inept, because I got a second opinion and learned I had a tumor, and not osteomyelitis as their pathologist diagnosed. Doctors seemed knowledgeable but they missed their mark with me. If you have something described as not normal, and something they haven't seen before, then please get a second opinion, and always listen to your inner voice

Absolutely wonderful bedside manner! Answered all questions and explained everything in great detail. He returned my call the same day each and every time I called. He has gone out of his way to make sure I feel comfortable asking any and all questions I may have at any given time. He is also very willing to take time to communicate with my family members and answer any questions they may have.

As a newly diagnosed cancer patient I am actually thankful that Dr Shum and his associates were my first experience. Sometimes you know in your heart you can only go up, worst & most scariest treatment plan was discussed like I had no other options & if I did not listen to him/them I would die. No bedside manner or compassion existed in this office, highly unprofessional front office as well. I highly do not recommend this doctor.

I saw Dr Shum following a referral to his office. The staff was friendly and although there was a slight wait i quickly realized the wait is because he spends the time to talk with his patients. He explained things very well and i feel very comfortable in his care.
