No concern nor care
Had no concern of my issue. I had recently went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital to get my head checked out as I’ve had constant migraines and ear ringing. Neurologist at hospital ran multiple test and stated I have no neurological issues (with lumbar puncture procedure). Opted to see Dr Yoo since Dr Cynthia Tarter had retired. This was the worst decision I’ve made with selecting medical professionals. After my explanation he mentioned the below.“Nothing that we can really do for the ear ringing” and “Your issue sounds more neurological and anxiety” I would never recommend any of my family or friends to see this so what of a called doctor. Clearly he has no concern or care for his patients

I’ve had lifelong problems with my right ear: multiple ear infections, skin graph on my eardrum, tubes several times, ruptured my eardrum too many times to count. I recently started having severe pain again and thought the current tube in my ear got pushed in or something. When I say pain, it feels like someone is stabbing my eardrum, my ear bleeds at night, I have pulsating tinnitus, loud sounds hurt, going over the Fred Hartman bridge is agony due to the pressure, slamming my car door feels like my eardrum is ripping open, etc. I use to see Dr. Tarver, who I love, but she just retired and her practice was taken over by Dr. John Yoo. Today when I went in to my appointment, I had to give my whole backstory. Dr. Yoo told me nothing was wrong with me, that I was not feeling pain in my ear, my eardrum has never ruptured, I never needed tubes and I will never get them again. Oh and the tube in my ear had come out and was sitting in my ear canal. Dr. Yoo didn’t even remove it. It’s still sitting in my ear canal “like a piece of trash on the ground” - his words. I was absolutely shocked. He then told me that my problem is arthritis in my jaw. I tried explaining I have zero pain my jaw and I’ve had pain in my right ear my entire life. I basically pleaded with him to listen to me and he told me if I didn’t like what he had to say then I could go see someone else. I’ve been a patient there for years! I left out of there in tears. Dr. Yoo, you absolutely couldn’t have cared any less about me as a patient or even a human being. Shame on you.

Ready to retire
Dr Yoo did not diagnose inner ear infection he said inner ear can’t become infected. After leaving his office I found out that inner ear can become infected and that I have all of the symptoms of an inner ear infection. He Took the cookie cutter approach I suspect so could get to the next patient and bag as much money as he can before retirement. He is faded and void of drive to heal patients but would rather sell hearing aid’s. I have made another appointment with another ENT and will get a second opinion.

Many years with Dr. John Yoo (ENT Pasadena, Texas)
I have chronic ear problems which require a visit with Dr. Yoo a couple of times a year. Dr. Yoo is a true professional, very kind, and even though he wears the white coat, he never patronizes his patients or is intimidating at all. It's real easy to get appointments, and to get into an exam room, be examined, then leave. I would suggest Dr. Yoo to any friends of mine in a heartbeat.

About Me

care philosophy

As an Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialist, I emphasize an active listening process during patient encounters in a non-rushed setting to thoroughly evaluate patient problems, symptoms, and concerns. Each patient is treated not like a number, but as a unique individual (as a family member would be treated).
