Best Neurologist surgeon
Neurologist surgeon Dr. John Vender & his team are one of the best. I found myself lucky to have had Dr. Vender & his team to do my L5-S1 back surgery on 10.Oct.2023. I am doing extremely well, have no severe nerve pains anymore into my buttock & my legs. I still have lower back pains, but nothing compared to the severe nerve pains I suffered from before the surgery. I will always have some pains, because my whole spine is full of arthritis, but I can not thank Dr. Vender enough for doing such an excellent job. He is not only a great surgeon, he is also a great person. He goes beyond & above to help his patients. Every day for 4 days at the hospital he came and checked on me. What an amazing doctor. From day one I met him years ago, he was invested in my case, helped me & explained to me in every way what he can do for my pains and back issue. I can call him or email him at any time. Highly recommend him.

Compassion at it's finest!
My mother was extremely sick a little over a year ago and was taken to AU. In addition to several things going on they found a mass behind her optical nerve. Dr. Vender & his team just saw her again recently & it's doubled in size in 1 years time (meaning surgery is imminent). Dr. Vender is so involved with her care that he is personally texting her cardiologist to have her appointment moved up so we can get clearance for the surgery ASAP! Now has anyone ever had a Dr. Of any kind, much less a surgeon (bedside manner is usually not the best, lol) do something like this? We LOVE Dr Vender & his entire team!

Laminectomy Fusion of C3-C7.
I am more than pleased of the results of my fusion of C3-C7. The long surgery was only operable on one side as the injury occurred during combat operations 54 years ago. Dr Vender listened, took time to explain the procedure, and I couldn't be happier as there was instant relief of the pain in my neck, and the numbness and tingling in my left hand. I highly recommend Dr John Vender, the whole medical team and the Hospital for fulfilling my medical needs.

Thank you Doctor John vendor for giving me the hope I have been looking for, for many years. thank you for explaining everything in detail to me for taking up the time you took to make sure I knew all the options I had to be able to return to a better life Hey. I would recommend doctor vender highly to anyone that has been to multiple doctors without any help after many years I now have hope that I may soon be able to return to a better quality of life. Thank you Doctor vendor for making me feel comfortable with you and not nervous also thanks to your nurse practitioner and everyone else that I had to deal with pran I could not be any happier with the service and treatment I received from everyone I had to speak with. I feel like soon I will have my life back and that is something I have wanted for a very long time. Thank you again doctor vender and all the staff that I dealt with.

I saw Dr. Vender last July with multiple concerns about spine and leg pain. It took nearly 2 hours in a room before he showed up. I had to ask if he was there because no one told me and I felt completely ignored. He recommended an updated MRI but 1 was never scheduled. I had to keep calling and finally had one the end of September. He never saw me again, and I had to repeatedly call to get any information. I finally spoke to the CEO and had conversations with someone in the Dept. I realize he lost his father after a lengthy illness during this time but the patient care was horrible. I'm now seeing a different doctor not at AU because my problem still is here and I'm still in pain.

My initial appointment was a last minute fit in due to someone else cancelling. He had still read through my file and seen my MRIs. Very competent, and action oriented. In the surgery he was able to do what another surgeon told me couldn’t be done. Excellent bedside manner. Straight forward and doesn’t sugarcoat anything. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone!

Dr Vender is the best in his field! He’s already preformed 2 surgeries on me and they both were successful. He’s got great bedside manners, he’s funny and just very thorough in explaining what’s going on with you in laments terms. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a neurosurgeon.

He did a good job removing my glioblastoma, but he is an arrogant jerk. I asked him to help me with a service connected disability claim and he would not. When I asked him why, he basically said he would not and is not interested in helping me. Since the resection, he has shown no interest in my condition or been there to provide insight on my MRI's. He presents himself as cocky and uncaring and could care less about you once his end is done with you. BARF
