I was nervous to see him after reading these reviews but he was able to fit me in last minute and I was in a lot of pain. He was nice and seemed caring. He asked me a lot of questions and answered mine. He made me feel comfortable during my exam and was able to find out why I was in pain. The next day he called me to explain my test results and what type of medication he was going to prescribe and how to use it properly. I would see him again for future gyno related issues.

Not sure why he's getting so many bad reviews because I found him to be competent, attentive, kind, and with a friendly bedside manner. He referred me to one of his colleagues since he no longer does surgery. He's been a OB/Gyn for a long time, so maybe he doesn't gush like some others do, or maybe because he's a man people don't like him, but I thought he was great! It could be that I'm older and just appreciate his expertise.

Never will I go back to this Dr.
Went to him to check out why I am not able to concieve I have had numerous testing done on the East coast and he did not even care to see them or have my obgyn send them over.
He sat there with a old torn scrap paper doodling on it while I was telling him everything I have been through, not even taking real notes!
I am so upset that I wasted my day I had to take off from work for this! he told me to go get a better ovulation kit! And sent me home!

I came in with a lot of questions about birth control. At the time, I was on the pill & really didn't like the migraines I was experiencing. He came in & Dr. Vanderheide spent 5 minutes talking with me. He quickly dismissed my healthcare concerns and told me to take another option without hardly any information or help at all.

I came in with a lot of questions about birth control, specifically getting an IUD. I was currently on the pill and really didn't like the nausea I was experiencing. He came in and spent 5 minutes talking with me and it obviously looked like he was ready to make it as quick as possible. He quickly dismissed the idea of an IUD because of my medical history and told me to take another option without hardly any information or help at all. I left feeling uninformed and discouraged!

He was very real, approachable and non judgemental, everything we want in an OB. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. He was more than happy to answer any questions I had.

I went in about issue that was causing me embarrassment, pain, problems in daily life, home and work, and just in general was making my life a living hell. I waited for this appointment for 4 months. 4 months of crying from anxiety, pain, fear, and hope that someone would be helping me.
John was very dismissive, ignored my concerns, didn't ask for any tests and was crude. He actually suggested I look into different sexual positions and just deal with it. He spent 10 min. max. with me.
